Hello all,

I am looking into booking my trip for July shortly for the first time and I red online that if you book over the phone its like 10% due at booking and the rest later. I would much rather pay it later rather than now obviously. My only concern is that there is no direct US number. When I call am I able to get the price in US dollars? For some reason, I assume due to exchange rate fluctuations since the time of price setting, the UK price (In pounds) is about $300 US more than booking via the US site. Any input?

Thanks!

I called DLP in Nov and booked the my trip for April. I gave them a credit card gaurentee without any charges. They explained that 60 days out from my vacation the entire thing would be charged to my card. He was really sweet and able to give me the price in US dollars (although I am not sure if the exchange rate changes if the price in USD would change a little bit):confused3

Hope that helps:)

Awesome thanks. As far as I can tell, the rates are free from fluctuation. I think they are set one day based on the rates at that time and stay put. Hopefully that's the case. I will have to call and arrange the same.

I use skype to make international phone calls - it is really affordable and if you have to stay on the line longer - no worries. I called WDW from my home phone in Turkey to make dining reservations and was on the line for 1 hour and 15 minutes and it cost me less than 2 euros.:)

Oh wow, are the waits on the phone that bad? I have made reservations at disneyland in California and never was on the phone more than 5 minutes. Thanks for the tip! I will probably call from work though, take advantage of their free international

Well, that is a bummer for me. I booked it when exchange rate was a lot higher!! LOL.

I would take advantage of works as well. I called at 7am EST and I don't remember waiting an hour, but it was certainly not a 5 minute wait. I will say, I spoke with the guy for over 45 minutes trying to figure out all of the options I had and the prices. So I am sure I tied up their phone lines and made the wait for everyone else a bit longer ;)

The last time I visited I made an on-line reservation using the UK site and it saved me like 45% off the US prices. These huge savings may trump not having to pay right away.

Michael - they gave me that option over the phone as well and yes it would have been a big savings. The catch was, I had to pay it all at once right then.

I won't put money on my credit card that I don't have in the bank, so while it was a major savings for me to pay it all then would have stressed me out. I did think about pulling the money from my savings account and pay off my card using that, but I am glad I didn't because my dad died three weeks later and I had to use the money in savings to pay all his funeral. (I had to ship his body somewhere else which added a lot to the cost.) If I had used it for the April trip in Nov, I wouldn't have been able to cover all the costs for his untimely death.

So yes, if you have it or you are ok with putting it on a card and paying for it now, the savings is significant. Infact, that may be worth another phone call to switch the reservation to the UK prices.

Thanks Michael!! Now that I typed all of that out, I may go back and see I can change it. I guess I need to make sure they have a family room available still for my time, but I may even be able to upgrade to the Disneyland Hotel for the same price I am paying at NPB. (I think and type at the same time, much like talking. So excuse my rambling :rotfl:)

;) sounds like you are talking yourself into an upgrade there sweetlovin :rotfl: - get on that phone!

No - no worries - that was for WDW for dining reservations when the switch board opened! I can't imagine you'd ever have to wait on the phone like that for Disneyland resort Paris! But others here will know better!:)
