Value studios (and as a result value 2BRs because all the 2BRs are lock-offs), are most often difficult to get at 11-months out close to year round, including last week of Jan. At 11-months out for any particular start-date, if the date is actually open which is often not the case, the studios fill within moments after 8 a.m. The winners are simply those whose computers communicate faster than other members' computers right at 8 a.m. at 11-months out.
Though walking would seem to be a possible solution, the reality is that it is difficult to even find an open date to begin a walk. If you want spend a lot of time looking for a date to begin a walk and then doing a lengthy walk, or possibly waiting days for those who are walking to pass by days you want and open some of them for a short period that you can get, and then add others later as you spend more time constantly checking the site, then your chances may improve.
