Booking through orbitz with toddler

I know disney doesn't charge for toddlers. Why is it that when I go to book a disney hotel through orbitz they charge extra when I add my two year old? If I just book the room for dh and myself and show up with the 2 yr old will we be turned away? We co-sleep so if we end up with a king bed there won't be an issue there.

I booked a room through priceline last year which automatically books for double occupancy and we had no issues taking ds with us. This is why I think it may not matter if I don't add him to the booking. Any thoughts on why it might? In theory, the two yr old would not even need to be present at check in so I don't really see how anyone would know or why they would care for that matter since they don't charge for the little ones. I'd hate to run into an issue though. Thoughts?

If you book through Disney, 2 adults and one child under 3 can book a king room since it is assumed that the child under 3 will be in a Pack N Play. I don't expect you'll run into any issues by leaving him off of your reservation through Orbitz and adding him at check-in, but I would call the front desk of whatever resort you are interested in and ask their procedure for adding an infant at check-in.

Is there some advantage to booking through Orbitz? I guess I don't see any problem with just booking the room with two people and showing up with your two year old.

Orbitz has a promo code out right now for 15% off which would bring the room cost down from 104 a night to 88 a night. However, if I add DS it brings it up to 97 in which case it's almost not worth it to go through orbitz. I don't understand why they are charging for the two year old. I called disney and they said I would need to discuss it with orbitz and they wouldn't be able to add DS to my reservation without going through orbitz. So, what if we just book it and bring DS and don't say anything about it? Are they really going to notice?

Can you contact Orbitz and discuss it with them? I wouldn't think there would be a problem but you never know. Are you going to need DME service?

I am sure orbitz would tell me I have to add the kid to the reservation for the $10 more a night since they are a business and are out to make a buck. We won't be using DME at all since we are driving. Is there anything else I need to be aware of that he might need to be listed on our room for? I can't think of anything, but magic bands and fast pass plus have come out since we were down there last year and I'm afraid I'm gonna screw something up.

There is another thread on the Resorts board about this. Basically you book without the child and then have Orbitz call Disney and add your child. You could also wait until checkin and tell them because at 2 they don't even use tickets let alone MagicBands etc right? It could be pretty easy for you

You aren't using ME so you don't have to worry about that and most rooms at Disney have 2 beds anyway.

Just so you know Cheap Tickets which is a sister site of Orbitz has 20% off right now. The code is on their website. I thinks its MORECHEAP

I just booked through them leaving my 17 year old off and had to contact them to call Disney and add her on. You just don't mention the $ issue

Thank you! This is what I needed to hear. Sorry I made a repeat thread. I looked around for something like this, but didn't find anything.

I went thru something similar for our trip this past may. There are 5 of us and orbitz wanted to charge extra for the last 3. I booked it thru orbitz and then called Disney and had them add the kids. The CM said she isn't supposed to do that and next time I would have to do a 3 way call with orbitz CS and WDW CM to add the kids. I had to have them added pretrip so they would be able to do DME. If you don't use DME then you don't have to worry about...just add the child at check in.
