Booking through AAA

Anyone had any experience doing this?

After you have done so do you recommend calling the hotel to verify the ressie and bed options?

My biggest fear is that they will give us double beds instead of just one bed - not the worst thing in the world - but would prefer just the one.

TIA!! :lovestruc

I've been very disappointed in booking through AAA. I know a lot more about what I'm doing than our travel agent. I'll book directly using my AAA discount next time. She almost lost my discount in trying to make a change and I had to be the one to salvage the discount.

I'd definitely check and make sure your requests are there. I'd call disney directly ;)

Unless I am mistaken, if you make your reservation through AAA, they "own" your reservation, and Disney would not be able to give you any information. The confirmation # you have would be a AAA number, not a WDW number. If you are reserving a room only, you can reserve your room through WDW and still get the AAA discount. If your are booking a AAA package, you do have to do that through AAA.

I do not have AAA so I have never used it before. I always just went through Disney. My DS and his DF are getting married and planning a WDW Honeymoon. DF has AAA. What is a AAA package? I am trying to assist them in getting the best deal for their money. They know they want CSR and they want the Dining Plan. They think they may get their park tickets from Undercover Tourist or other discount ticket agencies as vs. AAA. They want to fly SWA...so they will try and get their own airfare as they research for good deals. They are not getting married until June 2009.

Thoughts on this......TIA!!! :sunny:

Hello,
We booked our package (room, park tix, DDP) thru AAA. I was able to call our hotel (Coronado Springs) directly a few days before arrival and confirm our special room requests with the confirmation #'s I rec'd in my package (paperwork) from AAA.

Fantastic Thank You!!

momrek06 - AAA has the hotels at a discounted rate. They beat all the other sites I have tried. It's definitely worth checking out!

Thanks for that info!!! :goodvibes:

Is it the opinion of most that DS and DF should just book everything through AAA...room/tickets/airfare/dining plan??

Hi Karen! Long time no see. :)

We have AAA and use them with no problem. Last fall I bought 10 day hoppers no expiration date from them at a discounted rate. I'd have to look it up to see how much I saved. I also got a AAA parking pass with that. I understand that is supposed to be something good, but I still don't know what the thing even was (it since has been most likely thrown out).

BARB, :yay: How the heck are you, lady?

Awesome, so you like AAA and have had no problems with them as far as travel? Seems while we are all busy in the early planning stages of the wedding that the kiddos just book EVERYTHING through AAA. Would be much easier than having the park tickets from one place, the hotel from another place, etc etc.....BUT then DS is very careful about his spending and always wants to get the best deal possible even if it means more work for himself to figure everything out.

HAPPY NEW YEAR, BARB!!! :flower3:

That's good to know. I had heard that the hotel couldn't (or wouldn't) give you any info if you booked through AAA.

Congrats to your son! You must be so excited.

Have you done any traveling lately? We are going to Munich in mid April. :goodvibes This time we are renting an apartment instead of booking two hotel rooms. It's hard to believe it's only six weeks away.

Right now I'm on here because I've got a free trip on Jetblue, so I'm trying to decide if I should take Hunter on a three night getaway over Easter, and if so, if we should stay at CSR, CBR or POFQ. It just feels too decadent to go two and half weeks before Germany. It must be my pragmatic martyr upbringing. Tell me I need to book this trip. ;)

Just want to apologize to OP for hijacking the thread for a bit. :hippie:

they want the Dining Plan. They think they may get their park tickets from Undercover Tourist or other discount ticket agencies as vs. AAA.

If they want the dining plan, they will need to buy at least a one day park ticket as part of their package through Disney. They do not need the number of days on the ticket to match the number of nights on the ressie, but must buy at least one day. They could still buy their remaining tickets through Undercover Tourist, but the one day ticket they have to buy from Disney would more than eat up their savings!

I have our honeymoon booked for my wife and I through AAA, but I still booked the ADRs myself (although the TA said she could do it) and I booked the air travel for us. AAA can get you a discount on the room and DDP package (plus the little freebies they toss in) but they weren't able to help us with our airline tickets, that was cheaper to do on our own.

That's true, but they could always not use the one day ticket from disney, and then upgrade that one for a later trip. That is what we were going to do if we did a split stay (cheaper to buy a 10 day and a 1 day ticket than to buy a 5 and 6 day) and just save the extra 1 day tickets.
