I'm looking at the last week in September. A standard view room is $352 on Travelocity and $396 booking direct thru Disney with the Sept discount (average rate). Is it typical to have that much of a difference? It's been years since I booked thru Travelocity as I felt we always got a bad room location.

Are you comparing apples to apples? Same room type? Taxes included on both quotes?

Yeah, pretty sure I'm looking at standard view rooms at the Poly pre tax. However, I went back and looked more carefully on the Disney website and now it seems the Poly is only at a 20% discount. I could have sworn it was at 30% when I looked a couple days ago. Ugh. I guess I gotta make up my mind.

I see your concern as it is very easy to request a room location direct, where as when you book with traveloscity (and please someone correct me if I'm wrong) you can't state a room preference at the time of booking.

If you use travelocity for the $44 per night additional savings, may I suggest calling the Poly directly about a week before check-in. They might have your reservation in their system by then. And then you can make your building/room request at that time.

Unless I'm wrong, and I don't know if this is a concern to you, most third party sites charge your card the entire amount at time of booking, whereas Disney will only charge you 1 night as a deposit. That was what held me back last month when they and expedia had really good sales going on.
