:grouphug: I am full of questions!! I have noticed that a lot of brides are booking for 2007. If we want to renew our vows in December 2007 (Intimate), when should we be able to book??

I did call last week and request information to be sent and have yet to receive it. I have gained a wealth of knowledge just reading the DIS Boards--thank goodness for this forum!! :) The woman that I spoke to Karen, was a little evasive and insisted that I get the materials before asking questions. I guess I am too much of an obsessive planner and can not wait!!! :rotfl:

Anyway to Princess Mo, Starseed, Jonette, Heather and all who have been so patient to answer my queries, I am forever greatful!! :grouphug:

Have a Mgical Evening!!

Unless it has changed since i booked mine, you are able to book a year in advance. Not long to go! If you dont get the pack soon, ring again, you got your dream wedding to plan (vow renewal).

Hi seaprincess, we are also renewing our vows in an intimate ceremony Dec '07. I'm just like you in that I like to plan well in advance and it's quite frustrating having to wait sooooo long to book with Disney. I've been told thatthey can 'pencil you in' 12 months in advance, but not actually confirm it until 8 months in advance. That's really awkward for us in the UK as we really have to book our plane seats early to guarantee getting there! I just really hope that we don't book our seats and hotel package now only to later find that we can't have our VR, as this is the main reason for our trip. I guess I'm just born to worry! What date are you planning, where and roughly what time? Y'see, there I go again, worrying in case someone else wants the same date, time and venue as me.
Dee :worried:

From what I understand, it is on a first come first serve basis so if when they pencil you in at 12 months, you are in ... at 8 months you make the deposit for the wedding and sign the contract - this is for a custom wedding. No other brides is going to bump you.

The date and location is yours when they pencil it in. The only thing is if a convention wants the location then they will move you but that will happen even if you have a custom wedding.

For an intimate wedding, they pencil you in and again the location and date is yours.

So I would make the planning at 12 months when you have the date and location.

I dont know if its changed. But even if you are penciled in at 12 months a convention or show can bump your wedding up until 8months. I was holding my breath for four months hoping we could keep our date

That can happen anytime BUT it has happened so rarely that I don't know that one should worry about that. Beside if for some reason it happens (after the 8th month) usually you get "compensated" for it (may be a good thing - wedding paid for by another company... <g>).

I don't think it happens often because conventions usually need much much more room than any wedding so they would rarely book the same spots. i.e why would a convention book the Gazebo at the Yacth Club or WP or Sunset Point?

Just my .02 cents.

I haven't booked anything yet so maybe it's not my place to say, but from reading the Boards I thought that even if you are penciled in, it doesn't mean you are guaranteed. I don't want to scare you, but I have read about the lottery system if a date/location desired are the same as another bride. But I guess that would be before the contract is signed. I think they do a lottery at the 8 month mark. I guess that's at the very busy times. I have read posts about the lottery system and about being bumped by a convention, just a few months back. Good luck with your date. :-)

Yes, a lottery will be held AT the 12 month mark IF there are multiple brides wanting the same location and time and one bride (hopefully you) will get the location and time requested. At the 8th month mark, you get the contract finalizing the location and time... can you be moved in the 4 months in between. Yes, if a convention really wants your space. After 8 months and contract is signed, can you be moved? Well, if a convention really really wants your space Disney will probably ask to move you and more than likely compensate you for it...
Have no idea what happens if you say no - this is where the fine prints in your contract come into play.

There is no "penciled" in prior to the 12th month.

:cloud9: Wow, thanks for all the responses!! We are planning on renewing our vows December 1, 2007. One day shy of our actual wedding anniversary. We have been together 15 years and will be married 12 years on December 2nd. I figures what a fun way to celebrate with friends and family!!

My brother just got engaged this past weekend, I can not sell them on a Disney Wedding, so I figured we would enjoy their wedding in April 2007 and invite them to kick back and relax while we re-take the plunge in December! :cool1:

I am so excited I can not stand it!! We have ironed out a lot of details but I love planning. I would love to be a Disney Wedding Coordinator...my dream job!! There is nothing that is more wonderful than to see brides smile!! princess:

You guys are awesome!! :grouphug:

Everything is going to be perfect...I am wishing you much pixie dust!!!

Have A Magical Day!

I wish you all of the best! I can't wait to hear all of your plans as you continue to get closer to your date. There is so much to do beforehand! I hope to learn alot from your plans as I start to plan my vow renewal! I just have a few years to go!
