Booking Strategy -- When looking for a discount

We are planning a family trip with staggered arrival days. My mom has declared, after staying at the Poly last year, that we must stay on the monorail until the grandkids (mainly, my kids) get a bit older. We've decided that means we will stay wherever on the monorail is cheapest, but my mom strongly prefers the Poly if it is even close in price.

Of course, what is cheapest could change depending on the availability of discounts.

So, should I book the cheapest available now, which is CR--Garden Wing at $400/night? Or book the Poly at $456/night?

We went in Feb. of last year and the Poly was cheaper because it had discounts available whereas the CR did not. But, if there are no discounts, CR looks like the way to go.

I'm thinking book CR now . . . help Disboards!

I would book the resort your family wants to stay at now, and check discounts when they are released for your dates. If $$ is a deciding factor, you could always change to a less expensive room when you see the discounts.

We tend to book what we're willing to pay for if there are no discounts - and then adjust as they come out. It seems like those garden wing rooms tend to go fairly quickly - so if that's your plan B if there are no discounts on the Poly, I'd grab it now. You can always change when a discount is released.

When your mom says Poly if it's close in price, what amount does she mean? Is the $56 close, in her opinion?

As others have stated, the garden wing sells out at CR quickly. Personally, I'd keep that. We have stayed there many times & enjoyed it!
