Booking Soon. Will my plan work?

Been reading a lot and wanted to make sure my method of attack will work.

We're going in Nov/Dec 2014, but I our plan is to stay at AoA in a Nemo Suite.

My plan is to purchase a Walmart gift card at a Walmart Neighborhood market getting 2% cash back. Then I will go to Sam's club across the street and buy the $150 pack of gift cards x 9 for $143 each using that gift card. My purpose in doing this is that the Neighborhood market is coded as a grocery store and Sam's is not.

If my math all adds up this should net me a $90 discount.

Of course I usually just book my vacation to a card. How do you pay via all these Disney Gift cards? I do recall reading to save the gift cards in case I have to change the plan such as a big fall discount on other rooms.

Is it worth the hassle or should I just book it to my card getting 2% back on travel?

Most stores will not allow you to purchase a gift card with a gift card, so check to make sure it is possible. As for paying Disney, you will have to call and read each number to the CM for payment.

Good point about not buying a gift card with a gift card. Will have to check Sam's policy on that.

If that's the case then I'll just buy at Sam's using my rewards card and get 1% back and the Sam's discount.

That's still $76.50, so better than target. (Not better than the pharmacy stack at target, but I'm not messing with that).

So I'll probably want to book via the phone then rather than online.

According to this Sam's will let you buy gift cards with gift cards.

My understanding is that you'll only be able to use one gift card when you make your reservation online, so any excess deposit beyond a single gift card will have to be charged to a credit card. After that, I believe you can pay the rest with gift cards.

$200 for a package reservation, and one night's room charge for a room only reservation.
