Which booking site do you use to book DL only hotel. Which offers the best discount?
Have you ever had issues showing up to the hotel and them not having your reservation?
When booking no cancellation fee room do they charge your credit card right away?

I am undecided about where i am staying and would like to book resort property but be able to cancel if i have to.

You would probably get more responses if you posted on the Disneyland forum. I have found that the best way to book at DL is to book it yourself directly. You can sometimes save a little with sites like travelocity etc and I've gone that route but I've also read that you don't have the same guarantee you would have booking directly through disney.

If you want to stay on site, look into special DLR offers at certain times of the year for 20-25% off or events like Gay Days or Dapper Day when lodging can be up to 50% off. I always go sometime in the first couple of weeks of December and they have had a 25% off room offer every year I've booked. I also like to go to Dapper Day (one in spring and one in fall); I love dressing up...and the 50% off hotel rates. Gay Days has an event in October and one in the spring called Mini Gay Days.

We visited Oct 2-5 for the first time. There were no discounts offered at that time, at least none offered for the 6 months prior that I started planning. So I booked through Orbitz.com and used a 15% off promo code. I think they limit the discount to a certain amount, maybe $150-200, but it's still better than paying rack rate.
We stayed at the GCH and it eventually sold out for our dates which made me nervous but it all went smoothly. It's really no different than if you book through a travel agency, from Disney's perspective.

We did pay in full at the time of booking. It was cancellable until 5 days prior to check in.
