Has this ever happend to anyone? I had a 2 bdr and a studio booked but wanted to change to a Grand Villa at BWV. I called and played around with dates until I found a week that I could get. In the time it took the release my points from the original booking and borrow points from next year, my week was taken by another booking. My question is, don't they hold the reservation you want, while getting your points from other reservations? It seems silly to me to go to all that trouble and end up not only losing out on the GV but also the studio that I just released to be able to get the Grand Villa.. I am not a happy camper right now. pj

It depends on how you manage the transaction.

You could hold the original reservation, make the new ressie, and then cancel the old ressie. That would accomplish what you're asking, but you'd have to have enough points available to do that. If you had to borrow points, for example, you would not be able to "unborrow" if your plans changed...so you have to consider the ramifications of that strategy.

If you had to cancel the studio to have enough points available, there was probably no other way to do it and it just didn't work out.

The way you did it, you cancelled the studio ressie and that ressie was gone.

If someone was on a waitlist for that time, the availability might have been snapped up instantly. Or, someone might have been talking to another CM at the same time asking for exactly what you cancelled...in which case you made one of us very happy.

In the time that took, someone else snatched up the GV.

On the bright side, your chances of getting the studio back are pretty good, depending on when your trip is. You should keep trying for both the GV and studio.

Thanks JimMia... I guess I just got caught in the middle of everything. I had to let the first ressies go to get points and then I had to arrang to borrow the rest. Even if I had borrowed first, I wouldn't have had enough points until I cancelled the other ressies, so theoretically the GV could have been snapped up in that time frame, no matter which way I did it. Just bad luck for me I guess... pj

This has never happened to me and I understand your frustration but the fact is that two of you called for the same reservation at the same time. One of you had to NOT get it. Maybe the other person's situation was even more complicated than your's and he/she would be stating his/her displeasure right now instead of you.

I hope you get your first reservation back. Good luck.
