Anyone else having trouble using the online reservation tools at Universal's site? I've been trying to get a price quote for a week or so, but I can never get a "vacation" price to show or the Mastercard discount either! AARRGHH! The site lets me put in all of my preferences but then just sort of continues in limbo with the "searching for best deals" page continually loading and my page says Done at the bottom!! Anyone have any helpful suggestions?

Thanks!!

Thanks for the reply. Yes, that link does work, but I'm not seeing any details anywhere about the Mastercard free night offer....Any suggestions on how to get info on this deal?

Thanks again!

I tried messing around with booking on line and I could never get my AAA discount. I ended up calling instead and had no problem getting the AAA rate I wanted. Maybe calling them might work out for you too.

I had trouble also. I was using Firefox browser. Switched to Internet Explorer and had no difficulties. Maybe the site can't handle Firefox?

Thanks Franco!! I was using Firefox also and switched to IE -- voila, no problems accessing the info!!

You're welcome I learned from experience. It only took me 2 hours to figure it out!!!

If you have not yet found the info on the mastercard deal you can get it from the universal website-at the top click on "hot deals" and then the mastercard deals will come up on the right side - click that and you're in.
I am calling loews tomorrow to see if this can be used in combo w/either AAA rates and/or loews member upgrades. Probably not but it never hurts to ask:cool1:

It doesn't. The actual room rate you are getting is pretty close to rack rate and they add on a free day. However, the average rate per night may work out not to be the best deal. Check and see if any other rates work out to be cheaper before you take the Mastercard deal. Sometimes the AAA or Annual Pass rate turns out to be cheaper in the long run.

I've been running the numbers for the different scenarios and I have a question for you. First I thought I saw somewhere that there is AAA discounts given in restaurants but I can't find that on my AAA website.
If not you pose a new scenario that I haven't yet factored in and that is the APH. Which one is best - the one for $179??
I don't know if we would go again in a year since its not exactly close for us, but I'm willing to go whichever is cheaper. Also, if you call loews will they quote you all these different rates??? I was planning on doing that tomorrow - it may be easier......

You would need the pass that is $179. But you only need 1.

Loews will definitely give you different quotes but you need to ask for them. Get them to give you AAA, APH and supersaver (if you are staying for 4 nights you might be eligible).

Check the annual pass website for the complete list of benefits. There are many although they seem to have reduced some down to 10% from 20%. AAA card did get you a 10% discount at the restaurants and shops inside the parks. I'm not sure if it is changing if they are changing the APH discounts though.

Thank you damo, you have been most helpful.
Wish me lol tomorrow !!!!!!!!!!!!!

ok I called and here's the deal...was told no offers can be combined ie cannot get AAA rate and the 2 free park tickets so options to book a queen deluxe at HRH 8/8 for 6 nights are:
AAA and APH are $332
super savers is $314
mastercard deal $324 plus one night free so this is actually for me the cheapest way to go. I am a loews member but since I just joined I think it might be long shot to get the upgrade on arrival. But I thought I read somewhere that there were negatives to booking as package.
Any last thoughts or suggestions?????????????

My only concern is that if the APH or AAA rates go down, you can always alter your rates. With the mastercard deal, you are stuck with that rate. Would you consider just the double queen room? It is much cheaper -- $246/night. I guess August 8 is still prime time, so rates are going to be higher.

Yes I am still considering all options since I'm looking at the numbers and going:sad2: Would also consider PBH since their AAA rates are cheaper and std rooms larger.
Since we are staying for 6 nights I'm also considering staying off site for a few of those days to save some $$ but the kids probably won't like that and then I'm back to square one looking for another place. Also a pain to change hotels.
Wish we could go now.....weather here is way depressing. Yesterday is was 80 degrees, today its 40 and tomorrow its supposed to snow ?????????????
