I just wondered what the difference is if I book online at disney site or call and book by phone? I know the price is the same, but if they end up offering a free dining pkg. and I want to change my ressie to include that (I am booking the dining pkg. regardless) can I change my ressie via e-mail or phone regardless of how I booked it? Is there a charge for changing my ressie if they offer a free dining package or something else? Thanks for the help.

Let me try my question here...is there a toll free reservations number or is it just the 407-w-disney?

I usually like to take care of all things online, but the CM on the phone was wonderful. Online they don't tell you about special packages or deals, but on the phone she checked two different date ranges and two different resorts for me.

I also read that the CMs were supposed to try to "sell" you more than you wanted, but I didn't find this to be true at all.

Toll free is: 800-828-0228

I do LOVE to do everything online, but with Disney, if you call you can have them check your name for special codes, etc (never worked for me, but I've seen it reported here before). You can also ask about specials and the AAA discount. I believe online booking is rack rate only unless you have a code already.

I do think you can book online and then make any changes by calling direct as well.

We always book by phone. Booking online has many more restrictions in terms of payment and cancellation/changes. Call. You only need to pay for one night to book it and you have a much larger window to cancel.

YIPPEE !!
I was always wondering if they had a toll-free #. Calling tons of times from Michigan can add up and always wondered why Disney didn't have a toll-free phone #.
THANKS A BIG OLE' BUNCH ! :teeth: :lovestruc

For our June trip I made my reservation online, but we want to go back in January and honestly AAA gives us a better rate than Disney online!!!

So it's gonna be AAA for us, because 300$ of saving is a lot of money! :flower:

Yes, that is the number. And you can even make dining ADR through this number. :wave2:

Thank you!! I wanted to call during my lunch hour but not use all my cell phone minutes. With an 800#, I can use my office phone.

My DH will like that too !
Wooo Hoooo now I can tell him "See how much money we can save and put towards our WDW vacation!" Do ya' think he'll buy it ? LOL :rotfl:

I called this morning...didn't even wait for lunch. I told them that I wanted to use AAA discount for our rooms. We quoted out the entire package...7 nights at POFQ, 7 days MYW Premium tickets. Grand total: $1436 and change. Pricing it online myself, it was $1566 and $1662...and they wouldn't let me go with a 7 day ticket for a 7 night stay. I had to have an 8 day ticket and 7 night stay.

So I did save money by calling and I have until 5 days before our departure date to cancel for a 100% refund. I did have to pay a deposit of 1 nights stay plus the tickets, with balance due at check-in.

So bottom line...I saved about $200 using AAA, but called WDW direct and asked for the AAA rate.
