I know, I could make better use of my points...

But...

We are planning on using points at the GF for an anniversary.

I know I can book it 11 months out, but realistically how far out do I need to book this? (It will be in February 2005, value seaon, garden view.) I am trying to plan out our next use year and points so I can enter the booking windows in my palm.

Does CRO only block out a certain number of rooms for DVC members using points or coudl I actually even get thsi room within a coupel montsh before the trip?

I've never stayed at the GF before so I'm not sure how booked it usually is during the February months.

Thansk for any opinions!

Keep in mind that only the first week and half or so of February is "Value Season". Around 2/12 (the date shifts a day or two each year), it becomes "Peak Season". Once you are in to Peak, getting reservations may be more difficult.

It woudl be before peak seaosn starts. How far out woudl you book it?

Thansk!

I just booked the Disneyland Hotel for the week after thanksgiving. That was about 2 months out.

I use the same booking period as I would if I were paying cash. Probably 5 or 6 months if I knew in advance. I don't think there is a limited number of DVC rooms.

Last year, I booked into AKL SV for second week of December about a month in advance using points.

Well, thsi is good. Thanks.

I'll wait until colser to the trip to make these ressies.

This way i'll hopefully know how many points I will need since those charts are't out yet.

Plus, I was probbaly goona have to see about getting soem trnsferred poinst from soemone. Thsi way I can book my other DVC trips that use year with my own points, then get transferred the corecct amount to finish out this ressie.

I don't think there are rooms set aside for DVC members. When you call they check regular availability.

Just a reminder that once you book a non-DVC resort with points they become "reservation points". They can no longer be used for a DVC option.
