It's a few weeks till I go now, and as we're going at the busiest time of the year, I am going to book my restaurants really soon.

I'm going for half board plus, so that will affect a lot of my restaurant choices as I want to get the best out of the HB value wise.

There aren't any restaurant's that I MUST go to - I always though Blue Lagoon would be my first choice, but reading the latest reviews it seems to have really gone down hill. Can we just go here for a sneaky cocktail at all?

We get there lunchtime on a Sunday, and I was always planning to eat at Walt's that day and watch the parade from there, but I really like to be down on the street by the action, and I'd worry from now till the day that we wouldn't get a window seat...

Should we still include Walt’s even at a non paradey time of day? And what do you think would be the best meal choice for my not very disney-fied bf as a 'welcome to the magic' meal on our first afternoon?

I was thinking maybe lucky nugget, or even Walt's at a different time, I really want to go somewhere with character, so we don’t feel like we're stopping the first days fun to eat - if that makes sense.

I'm also thinking about making an 8.30 reservation for cafe Mickey one evening, so we can eat in time for fantillusion at 10 - is this a reasonable guess? Or should I go earlier?

I know, I give it all way too much thought. But it's taken a lot of persuading to get him to come round to the Disney way of thinking, and although I’ve tried to get him to look on DLRPfoodguide.com he just shrugs and says wherever I choose is fine.

But I know if we go somewhere bad he'll secretly wish he'd looked more..... men!

If he likes steak he might like the Steakhouse in the village? That always seems like quite a masculine place to me! I adore Annettes, and it isn't disneyfied so won't put him off. If you want to maximise time in the park I'd eat later and just grab a snack in the day.
Cafe Mickey gets pretty busy and you don't always get seated at the time you book, so if you absolutely have to be back in the park I'd give yourselves plenty of time. Having said that I haven't eaten there at that time or time of year so prepared to be wrong!

I wouls still eat at Walts, just not during parade time. The restaurant is quite elegant and it serves lovely food. Plus it is not over the top Disney, a nice intro to the Disney way of thinking really!!

Cool, thanks for the tips! I was thinking about maybe doing walts as a late one instead, then worst case scenario we can see fantillusion from dinner, or if we finish with onyl a few minutes to spare we'll be right on Mainstreet.

That sounds like a plan to me. I'd love to help you more, but I've never been so don't know that much about the restaurants except what I've read on here.

If it helps, we're also planning a dinner at Walts as it looks/sounds fantastic without being too overly Disney (my oh is very much like yours)

Hee, thank you. I'm sure he'll love it. He was even singing "dancin' a catchy rythym" today, as I sing it when i get excited about the parade.

I know it's the old music, but I don't want to hear the new parade music until I see it at the park!! Then I can buy the CD and get addicted to that song too!!

My current plan looks something like this:

Sunday (arrive 12.30pm).

Grab something in park to eat in line for a ride at some point. (I'll be stuffed from all the food they give you on the Eurostar if it's akin to the breakfast on the way to Paris) :cake:

8pm, Dinner at Walt's ::MinnieMo

Monday

Sequoia Breakfast 7am :scared1:

Lucky Nugget Lunch :dogdance:

Rainforest Cafe Dinner (if we have room....?)

Tuesday

Fantasyland breakfast - 9am :cloud9:

Little park lunch

California Grill Dinner (maybe...but I like annettes...and want to go to Cafe Mickey....)

Wednesday - Sequoia breakfast

Then I don't know. We leave at about 7ish so maybe a Cafe Mickey lunch.....it's a tough one

As you can see from this list -

(a) I am a geek
(b) I should have booked a longer stay....

If only my eurostar tickets were transferrable I'd add a night.

Sounds great to me! :thumbsup2

I'd do Cafe Mickey on the last day ~ it's a nice finish to your trip to have a character meal on your last day.

We're still undecided whether to do Cafe Mickey or Lucky Nugget on our last day ~ oh decisions decisions!! :rotfl: :rotfl:

I would definately do California Grill. When ever we go to Disneyland Paris and WDW we always eat at the California Grill!! Actually it will be really wierd doing a drip to Disneyland in August and not eating at a California Grill. Coming to think on it why doesn't the park that is actually in California not have a California Grill?!! lol

I'm so jealous fo you going to Vegas and LA.

I went to Uni on LA for a while and miss it SO much! And Vegas is the most amazing city known to man! I'm going next Sept to see Cher at the forum!

And I cannot wait!

Where are you staying in Vegas? I stayed at TI last year and it really is a great hotel in the best location for a wonderful price. We paid for a strip view room and it was breathtaking!
