Booking Multiple Cruises

So me and my wife are looking to book two cruises in 2019. We already have a $250 deposit down for the next cruise which we put down on our previous cruise. While we are going to get the 10% off because we booked on our previous cruise, is there a way to get 10% off the 2nd one without being on a cruise to put $250???

Outside of using a TA is there a way to get a discount on the second cruise. I want to book now to avoid the higher cost later and all excursions being booked.

Nope, no way to get a discount unless you are flexible enough to wait to see if there are any *TY rates released for the cruise you want. TA's can't even do discounts on DCL. They can offer incentives to get you to book like OBC but they cannot discount the actual fare.

You can book through Costco and save a bunch. They will send you a cash card after you return from your cruise. It is worth about 8% of the cruise cost. If you pay for the cruise with the Costco Visa, you get 3% cash back. If you are an executive member, you get another 2% cash back. In total, you can save about 13% off the cruise price by booking with Costco.

It’s not the same as a discount, but it is a huge savings when you add it all up.

Ihave that abbreviation wrong now that I think about it (should be *GT) but it the is last minute "deals" DCL releases for Inside, Oceanview or Verandah category rooms. They are normally released after PIF for the cruise, require immediate full payment and cannot be cancelled without losing the full fare. They are cheaper than the prevailing rates but may also be more expensive than booking them earlier would be.

I am in the same circumstance. I asked DCL about this because out second cruise is an 8 night and the first is only a 3 night so much cheaper. They said there was no way to do it, but SUGGESTED (which I am doing) that I go on the first cruise and while on the ship ask about the second cruise. If the price has not gone up more than 10%, then they can cancel and rebook it with the 10% off.

However, they also said that if I am sure I am going with or without the discount to buy it now and put the minimum down so that I can lock in the current price just in case it goes up.

If you book a placeholder onboard, you can put it on whatever cruise you want. It doesn't have to be applied to the first cruise you're taking. So, if you want to book both a 3 night and an 8 night cruise (in that order), you can apply your placeholder to the 8 night cruise, if you wish.

If you book a placeholder onboard, you can put it on whatever cruise you want. It doesn't have to be applied to the first cruise you're taking. So, if you want to book both a 3 night and an 8 night cruise (in that order), you can apply your placeholder to the 8 night cruise, if you wish.

Oh, they did give me that option. But I wanted both.

I have 2 cruises booked for next year - 4 mths apart. I used my placeholder for the longer, more expensive cruise and booked the other cruise as is. Then luckily, the price didn't increase too much so I was able to get a placeholder from recent cruise to rebook and get the discount.

I don't think I could have done it any differently since every cruise we do I buy a placeholder. I suppose if they went back to allowing more than one placeholder cruise, it would be helpful to a lot of us.

I think the reference is to the fact that since they are on a B2B they can book a placeholder on each leg of the B2B.

And you can actually book two placeholders per household (same family at the same address), they just both have to be used on the same future cruise.

Right. The two cruises I was looking at were not the same cruise (as I mentioned).
