Booking Jungle Book / ROL Dinner Package for Xmas Day

In a couple of weeks we will be able to start booking our ADRs - we are planning to be in Animal Kingdom for Xmas Day.

I assume that we will be able to book a Jungle Book Package for Tusker House at that point.

If we do that and then Rivers of Light starts by the time we go, do you think that they will switch out package to a Rivers of Light one automatically?

Or are we better just waiting until the packages for ROL are released?

I think that is a big leap of faith, and should not be assumed.

1. Animal Kingdom hours past September 5 or so are not extended past 5PM yet.

2. The long-term future of Rivers of Jungle Book/Light has not yet been announced.

No, they will not automatically switch to a show dining package from a "normal" ADR for Tiffins or Tusker House, if made. Dining packages are a separate reservation, and also cost more. IF, and it's a big if, they allow show booking, I'm sure the show booking will be good for whichever show is running. If either show is running. See 1 and 2.

I don't think you're booking a dining package at 180 days. People can't book for October yet, let along December.

I agree totally with Aurora. You are best off booking something else for Christmas Day and wait and see what happens at AK

I'm kind of in the same boat, but waiting for early December. In my case, since we have decided we will be in AK that day, I would make my reservation (especially since I want a PPO) and wait for dining package to be released. If I can, then I would cancel to replace with a dining package after. If you're not set to be at AK unless you get a dining package, then I would just book elsewhere as previous poster said.

ETA: You could be at AK and just get FP+ if you don't get the package. What I'm thinking anyway...

Thanks all. I guess we will just book a regular ADR for Tusker House for now and watch out for the packages to be released.
