for June or July. Is it hard to get Hilton Head at the 7 month window during June / July? Thanks!

I have done it 2 years in a row by calling exactly at the 7 month mark, first thing in the morning. Some here have said 2 bedrooms may possibly be easier to get than other rooms since there are more of them. But I have gotten studios on both occasions.
If you are not lucky enough to get what you want you can waitlist. I had to cancel my original HH ressie earlier this year and went on the waitlist, and it came thru for me last month.

We also had success booking at the 7 month window. We have a 2 bedroom and a studio for the end of the month. We began calling as soon as we could. We tried for a GV but none were available. Good luck on your ressies!

We were waitlisted for HHI for a 2 BR at the 7 month mark. All waitlists came thru. This was for 6/24- 7/2. Busy time. :cool1:

No problem. HH and VB are seldom booked except for the obvious big holidays like the fourth of July. You can get ressies even a couple of months out if you are flexible with dates. We got a Beach Cottage at VB at the 7 month mark when people said it couldn't be done. These resorts just don't have the demand of the WDW DVC Resorts. Good luck and I'm sure it will work out for you.

On the other side of the coin, a 2BR is "somewhat easier" to get than a Studio/1BR in summer.
I would say the 2BR is MORE possible, but studio and 1BR would be VERY hard to get at the 7 mo mark, (esp. at the July 4th mark)!

Good Luck, and hope you get it!!

P.S. That is why we bought a small add on at HHI, for the summer mos!

I strongly disagree with the characterization that HH is easy to book at the 7 month mark. With the very small number of studios and 1BR's, it is actually RARE that one can get a studio or 1BR during the week in peak season at the 7 month mark. Yes, there are exceptions. Yes, sometimes the wait list does work. But, in general, summer is a very popular time at HH and the resort generally runs at pretty much full capacity. And, at least for 1BR's and studios, the reservations are generally made well prior to the 7 month window. This is actually why we ended up adding on at HH. 2BR are significantly easier to get and are often available at the 7 month mark.

I have to disagree with that based on my own experience these last couple years.
When I had to cancel my existing HH ressie in March I wanted to reschedule right away and I was VERY flexible with my dates...basically *anything* in later June, all of July or all of August. They had nothing available at all. So we waitlisted, week by week for July & Aug and luckily MS called us at SSR on our wdw trip to let us know of our waitlist coming through. I was very surprised that it did.

I have found Hilton Head to be tough to book in the summer at 7 months. If you don't mind shuffling around the dates, you can probably get a 2-bedroom without difficulty because that is the most common sized room. We were able to get a 2-bedroom in July last year, but we shuffled the dates several times through waitlists. We started with a 2 night reservation in August because that was all that was available. We then switched it to a July reservation for 3 nights through a waitlist, and then added a 4th night through another waitlist. We combined these 4 nights with 2 nights on cash for a 6 night stay.
