I just booked a 4day land/ 3 day sea package for Feb 26, 2006 directly on the disney cruise line site. Now i'm finding other sites (like vacationstogo and all seasons travel) that are listing my cruise for hundreds cheaper! Ack! :guilty:

Is it possible to still get the cheaper price from someone else? Do I have to cancel my Disney ressie (and will there be a penality for that?) Also, I like the convenience of being able to make Palo and Spa reservations online...would I still be able to do that if my reservation was with someone else? Please help!

We are currently booked in a Cat 6.

I have never personally done this, but I believe that you can transfer the reservation to a TA. This way you would not have to put down another deposit and wait for the first to be credited to your account.

I do not want to discourage you, but consider how much $$ you will save before transferring the reservation. I like to deal directly with DCL. I would find it a pain to have to filter all of my questions through a TA who may or may not get back to me in a timely fashion.

If you do use a TA, DCL will not answer any questions or make any changes to your ressie. You will need to go through the TA. However, I believe that you still will be able to use the online feature for pre-booking Palo, etc.

Just some food for thought. Good luck with your decision. :sunny:

So there is no way to transfer the existing ressie and get the lower price, is that right? And does anyone no for sure if non-Disney ressies can still see their reservation on-line and do the spa reservations, etc?

Even if you're booked with a TA, you can still see your reservation on-line and make on-line Palo and Spa ressies. You just can't apply payments to your reservation on-line, those must be made through your TA. You also can't contact DCL directly about your reservation anymore, all requests/questions must be through your TA. You also will be able to get your entire deposit back if you book through a TA, then cancel if you can't get their cheaper pricing. It might take some time to get your deposit back, but you'll get it in it's entireity. I'd contact some of the TA's you've seen with the cheaper pricing and ask them their advice on how to obtain their cheaper pricing. Sometimes it is as easy as giving them your DCL reservation number and that's it. They'll overtake the reservation and give you the lower price.

First calm down. Yes you can book with DCL and then transfer your reservation, I have done it. You will get the lower price that the travel agent is listing. First I would go with a TA that is experienced in DCL, I think the one I use is great, pm me if you want to know which ones I would use since the boards do not want to promote TA's. DCL will answer simple questions wheather you book with them or not, I just call last week and DCL told me our docs were shipped on the 28th. Will tell you if you final payment has reached them. You also can book reservations on line even if you use a TA. If there is a good size saving I would go for it. Most questions are covered on this board anyway and I have never had any trouble getting things added to my reservation thru a TA, have used 2 different ones and have cruised 5 times with #6 in 2 weeks.

We booked directly with DCL and then a few days later found that Costco was offering the same cruise much cheaper....we just called Costco and the TA called DCL while I was on the phone (3 way call)...you have to give permission to DCL to release the ressie to a TA.... and the ressie was transerred right there and then to Costco and we saved $700.00!!!

When DCL had their old site a few months ago (they have since revamped their site) you could not see your ressie if you booked with a TA. But, since DCL upgraded their site, you can see your ressies and prebook things just as if you booked directly with DCL.

Good luck...

Absolutley, you can transfer your ressie to a TA and get whatever discount they are offering. You can do a 3 way call with the TA and DCL (your TA can set this up). OR, what I've done is to call TA and tell them that you wish to transfer the ressie. THey gave me a number to use when I called DCL. I then called DCL and gave them the name of the agent, the agency, and the number that the TA had given me...and the fact that I wanted to transfer the ressie.

WIthin a few days, I received a new confirmation from the TA showing the lower price. BTY, you can do this also if you rebook on board (and get the on-board credit) then transfer to the TA. You can get the lower price and keep the onboard credit.

Thanks all wonderful people! You were right, it was painless. I did it all thru email with SueEllen at Dream Unlimited. She was able to transfer my reservation to her, apply the existing deposit and everything! We saved $345. Thanks!!!
