Hello All!

I am new to this forum and after our most recent trip to WDW I have been curious about organizing a large family/friends trip.

I wanted to ask if any one has booked a group rate through Disney?

What is the rate for 10 or more rooms vs less than 10?

Basically, what was the process like? Setting up itineraries, meals, etc.

Thanks for any assistance with this!

Hello and welcome :wave2:
I often travel with a large group (family, in-laws, friends). A few years ago I looked in to group rates. At the time the minimum was 10 rooms to book a group rate . . . if you had any less than 10 it wasn't offered. If you only needed 9 rooms (for example) you could book and pay for 10 - I don't think the discount was enough to pay for a 10th room that wouldn't be used.
They also offered discounts on park tickets, but the maximum was an 8 day park ticket I believe.
There was no discount on dining and if free dining or other promos came out, you couldn't apply them to the group rate (no double dipping so to speak).

In the end , our family ended up booking packages for separate rooms with rack (full) rate, length of stay tickets that we needed (10 days) and there was a free dining promotion that came out that year so we got that :thumbsup2.
Overall we saved more than we would have with the group discount.
I would encourage you to get in touch with group sales; the person I dealt with at the time was very helpful.

Have a great trip and enjoy planning.:goodvibes

Thanks for the info!

That is super helpful. I am at the very early stages of planning, so I will have to get a better headcount.

Thank you so much for taking the time

As much fun as it sounds like, just remember to enjoy your trip too! Don't try to be responsible for everyone's ADR's and FP selections, or try to get everyone on the same schedule. Either have a third party involved to help you with booking, ADR's and FPs (using a vacation planner may save you some sanity!), or set up a few meals/events that you want to do as a group, and then just relax and enjoy. Trying to shepherd my family through Disney trips has taught me that the only person not enjoying is the one doing all the planning!
