Booking for 2002

I want to book my trip for 2002 (already). I want to arrive at BWV on 6/26/02 thru 7/5/02. I've heard that many DVC members book day by day. When (with my 11 month window) can I book my dates, from the first date, or the last? Or should I wait and not do day by day bookings. If this all sounds confusing, it's because I am confused, but think most everyone knows what I'm talking about.

I would call on 7/27 to book 6/26/02 (the first day you could). Then ask how the availability looks. If it's wide open you could wait until 8/5 to call and book the rest of your trip or keep calling day by day. (I assume you would be checking out on 7/4 -- the day you call to make a reservation is 11 months from the date of check-out.)

Hi Steve,
Pam's advice is probably sound. I'm also going the same time in '02. (not as early as 6/26).
Just for info, I went 4th of July week this year and I booked right before the 7 month window began (Nov time frame) and actually scored a standard view (thus saving points).

Steve on LI you must have been reading my mind!!!! I'm also planning a trip for next year (6/29 - 7/5) and was wondering the same thing!!!! I need a two bedroom, does that mean I should call day by day, or just call on 8/6. We're staying at VWL, but would like to to try BWV for the first 3 nights. What do you think my chances would be at the 7 month window? I really want a preferred view, so wouldn't be looking for a standard.

I have complained many times, why oh why can't you book all your vacation on day one, so saving having to ring every day. They told me last year they were looking into this but nothing has happened.

Booking all your nights on the first day wouldn't be fair because people with longer stays would have first shot at the dates at the end of their stay. For example,you booked 12/5 to 12/15 all at once on 1/5, another member could call for 12/10 to 12/20 on 1/10 and find that the first 5 nights are already sold out from people who stays started earlier. The current way is fair, everyone can start calling for the same night on the same day.

I don't think they can change it anyway, it's part of the contract.

Is it really necessary to call every day? We are doing 5 nights in a 2BR BWV standard view next July. If I call 11 months from check-OUT day, are my odds diminished? I called 11 months from check-out day last year and got all 7 nights of the 1BR I needed.

We plan on doing 7 nights in a 2 bedroom next July. I really don't want to take any chances of not getting in as we plan to be there over DSs birthday. We also already have ressies at Discovery Cove. Because of this, I do plan to call on a day by day basis. If it weren't for the birthday thing, I wouldn't mind being flexible and would probably book all days at once.

We just closed today and we booked today for Feb 9-16.
I don't think you really ahve a problem waiting to the last day of booking as long as you're not booking for a holiday week or really peak time.
