Booking Fee?

A friend said there is now a $95.00 booking fee for reservations with or without points? Is this true? They can't raise our points so now they are going to charge for booking? Not very member friendly!

What??? Everytime you book you pay 95.00?? That can't be right! I am definitely not buying in if that is the case. I thought the cost was for transfering out to RCI or II or whatever it is now. Do they charge for you to use your points somewhere else, like DL or one of the Disnery resorts other than DVC??

I could be wrong, but I'm almost positive the $95 fee is just for trading out to RCI, or for non-DVC resorts.

My friends points are from Key West and they were booking last week on the property for around Easter but not sure where I will check. They have done it before and never had been charged.

The $95 fee is for non-DVC resorts or destinations, excluding Disneyland. So if you want to stay at a non-DVC WDW resort, such as the Polynesian, you have to pay a $95 fee.

My friends booked at The Floridian so that is why they got charged $95. I guess she was unaware they weren't in the club. Sorry for the mix-up

Rumors are circulating that once the GCV open the $95 fee may be added when booking DL. I hope it isn't true but I fear it may be.

yes, and that's going to be a huge % increase as many people visiting DLR only stay for a few nights, vs week + stays at WDW. $95 distributed over 3 nights is a much larger impact than $95 distributed over 7-10 nights.... That's why I'm buying VGC so I don't have to be worried about increasing point charts and booking fees for non DVC properties.

They must have been booking a non DVC resort and there is now a $95 fee to do that. No fee booking DVC using points.
