Booking DPs for Escape Brides 8 months out?

Hi all!

One of these days I guess I really should start a PJ!!! It's a bit intimdating though as yours are all so good!!

Anyway...so I called my sales planner (Doreen) because I still didn't get my WC!! And she told me that the DP's couldn't be booked before 8 months out for Escape Brides (or maybe for all brides?)...

So, I know some of you have said you had your planner book it for you...was that because you were within the 8 month mark? I'd really like to know if there was a way to get around the 8 month thing....because I guess I'm a bit confused from what I've read here and what Doreen told me.

Today is 2 weeks since they received my signed contract, so I hope I get a WC soon!!!

I didn't book anything until 6 months out, so I was under the 8 mo window when talkign to my planner. I would imagine anyone other than a wishes bride with an in park reception would have to wait to the 8 month mark.

I'm pretty sure no DP's can actually be booked before 8 months out because they are sort of "reserved" for corporate/conference events. If there are no bookings for corporate/conference events by 8 months, then they open that option up to brides.

I remember a bride not too long ago who got "bumped" from a reception location because of a corporate event...I think Disney tries to minimize that as much as possible and that's why they limit the booking dates.

I had no idea about the conference thingy/yokey-bob with the DP locations...that explains a lot actually...
