Booking day-by-day

I am hoping to reserve a grand villa at OKW for next January. Since it is our home resort, I am planning on calling at the 11 month window. Can someone explain the best way to do the day by day thing? Since it's our home resort I am hoping there will be availability...or is there a good chance I won't get it?

When I have booked a day by day reservation, and I'm guessing that you will be fine booking it at 11 months out. There are lots of GV's at OKW. I was able to get a GV at BWV in June doing it day by day and there are fewer than 10 GV's there.

Call the first day you can, (11 months out from what would be the check out day of the first day of your stay) and tell the CM what you plan to do. The CM will make a note not to send you the hard copy ressie until you've finished booking. Then each day, you just add a day on to your ressie. When you've reached the end, then it will be noted that they will send you the hard copy.

Because there are so few GV's at BWV and also I was successful in getting a BC at VB the same way at 11 months for June, I did call first thing in the morning.

We just recently completed a day-by-day for a high-time at VWL. If you call first thing in the AM, know the drill (DVC#, name, last 4 of SSN ...), and tell the CM that you are extending your day-by-day, you can be in-and-out w/i 5 min.

Same here. Just finished my day-by-day VWL reservation for a dedicated 2 bedroom Dec 3-8. Very easy and quick.

The OP shouldn't have a problem calling first thing in the am day-by-day I'd guess.

I just booked day by day for the GV in July at 7 months out at OKW. I got all but 1 day and waitlisted for that day by the end of the last day of my day by day bookings, my day waitlisted became available and I lucked out!! My suggestion is to call first thing in the AM (the one day I did not was the day not available). Tell them what you are doing and keep your fingers crossed! Good Luck!!
