Booking coveted fastpasses, what is your strategy?

I wasn't able to get and haven't even seen 1 FOP fastpass, and I've probably checked 150 times in the past week and a half. We are offsite, so couldn't book till 30 days out.

Are there any strategies you have used successfully? Do you check at a certain time of the day? Certain day of the week? App or website? Anything to do to increase your odds?

I was able to get Navi River right before a trip. It was just a matter of checking consistently. For me it was a last minute trip, so I booked within 7 days from arrival. Good luck!

I couldn't get any FoP at my 60+4 but got one at 50 days checking around 7:00 am on a Sunday morning. Granted, it was the day after a batch of evening ones were released for October due to park hours extending - I had gotten lucky with that on Saturday but wasn't thrilled with the late time so was still checking and was able to move it to a morning slot. But I've read several accounts of people being able to get them as late as the day before and day of.

I was also lucky moving a Frozen FP to a better time for my plans on an otherwise booked up day by checking at 6:45 am.

People change plans around all the time, so it is possible to get lucky if you're persistent with checking.

When I have diligently tried to get a FP+, it has usually been when I was already on site. My strategy is to use the MDE app on my phone, go to the day and park that I want the FP+ for, and see what there is. If there's nothing for what I want, I will incessantly refresh that screen to see what changes for availability. It can take some time, but it's amazing what will pop up for a seemingly impossible FP+ if you just keep at it. I imagine that could work as well before your trip. Whenever you have a few minutes to spare, go to the app and just refresh the FP+ screen as many times as you can do see what might become available.
