When I place my reservation for CRT and I plan on using DDE with an AP, do I need the AP voucher?

I understand that the reservation will put a deposit on my credit card, but won't be charged until I actually show up.

Does this mean that I don't really need the AP and DDE when I reserve, and when I actually meet Cindy and eat, then I will be charged according to AP and DDE. (I assume I tell them that then)

Am I right on this?

When making your adr with a rep they will ask if you have and will use a ddp.He/She will advise that it will take TWO of your table service Disney Dining plans for your meal, and yes you still have to give a credit card for confirmation. They DO NOT charge your card at the time of your meal UNLESS you tell them you are not using your ddr. Hope you can get your ressies-soooo hard to book them. GOOD LUCK AND HAVE FUN!

Disregard post #2, since you're using DDE which is now called Tables in Wonderland, and not the DDP, aka the Disney Dining Plan.

You are paying for the full meal ahead of time, not just a deposit on your credit card. I've read what people with DDE/TiW have been doing, this is what I've seen:

They paid for the meals at the time they made their ADRs, mentioning they will be using the DDE/TiW discount.

When they dine, they show their server their DDE/TiW card, and the server brings back the discount in the form of a Disney gift card.

I haven't done this myself, but this is what I've been reading. Hopefully others who have used the card will be able to verify this.

You only need the discount card in hand to get your discount. You don't have to worry about having an active annual pass when you're making the reservation as long as you've got your discount card with you at the time you dine.

Oh how nice. I've got CRT in December for dinner and just bought an AP and am purchasing a TIW card. Gotta try this on my trip.

I used my DDE, paid in advance, and I did get a gift card with the discounted amount on it. But they gave me a choice of having it credited back to my credit card or getting the gift card. I don't know if they are still doing that or not, this was in January.

We used DDE last April ... we were charged in full at the time the reservation was made. At the restaurant, our server brought us a gift card with the discount amount on it - I would have preferred that my original card be credited, but I wasn't given that option.
