Can you please describe for me the differences between the 4 booking categories at AKV? Thanks!

Money!!!! I would like to know this as well since we are staying there this November.

Value- smaller pool, parking lot or Savanah no request taken
Standard-Pool or parking lot view
Savanah view
Concierge- concierge Lounge not necessarily savanah

No values and concierge at Kidani and very limited in numbers

hmmm.... not sure where you are going with this but I'll take a stab at it.

I am assuming you want to know difference between value, standard, savannah, and concierge?

Value rooms, I believe, are converted rooms from the old hotel rooms of the AKL. They are smaller than their counterparts. There actually are some of them with savannah views, I understand

Standard rooms are just that... standard. They are larger than the value rooms and have views of the parking lot, pools, and garden.

Savannah rooms have a view of one of the Savannahs from your window

Concierge rooms have access to the Kilimanjaro Concierge services. I have not stayed CL level yet (going to do it in Nov) but my uderstanding is the features included are turn down service with chocolates on the pillow, housekeeping each day instead of every few days like normal DVC, access to the lounge which offers free drinks, sodas, etc. as well as several food offerings during the day. The food is best described as "finger foods" and not designed to be full blown meals. I hear the food offerings are wonderful! The only true meal offering might be the breakfast which is sort of a continental brkfst. You also get access to concierge for booking ADR's etc and also quicker checkin.

Hope that answered your questions :thumbsup2

Thanks everyone- one more question, maybe it was already mentioned but-

For all of the booking categories, can you still take advantage of the morning drive through the grounds to see the animals or is it only available for certain categories? I think I may be confused with whether or not there is a safari through AKV's property or the actual Animal Kingdom park? Thanks!

If it is the one I am thinking it is concierge only and not offered every day of the week. There is also an additional charge for the morning safari.

I have not done it but I sure someone with more info will be along.

We have done the Sunrise Safari. It is for CL at AKV only and I think it was only offered 2-3 mornings a week. I think we did Sunday. It is an extra charge, plus you must pay for admission into AK. It was not cheap either; you get the safari and a breakfast at Pizzafari.

The Sunrise safari is offered on Sunday and Thursday mornings and is a tour thru the Animal Kingdom Park - not the hotel grounds. It also is only available to guests staying concierge level.

Then Sunset safari is thru the hotel ground savannah's and is available to all guests staying at AKL/AKV.

We have done both and actually preferred the Sunset at the hotel. It is much more pricey but it does include dinner at Jiko.
