Booking August 2019

I am planning a trip at the end of August 2019. This is typically free dining time frame (I know, no guarantees). From history, it appears free dining for that time usually gets announced late spring.

If I book the trip later this year, will they convert it to the free dining deal if/when announced? Or should I just wait until next April to book the trip.

If FD comes out for your dates and what you have booked is available under that discount, you can have it applied to your reservation. You will have to call/check online for availability and have it applied (pending availability) as discounts aren't automatically applied. With that said, Disney offers discounts to fill rooms. If you will only go with FD, I'd wait too see if it's offered before booking as booking now in hopes of FD being offered is one less room Disney needs to fill.
