Booking at home resort?

We have been members of BC for three years and were thinking about adding on Vero Beach. We read on another web site that you can book 11 months out for only the amount of points you own at that resort. In otherwords, let's say I have 400 pts. at BC and add on 100 at VB. Can I really only book up to 100 points at VB 11 months out and have to wait until 7 months out to book the rest of our vacation since the rest of my points are at BC?

Yes. That is correct. (I assumed that you wanted to book your entire vacation at VB. You could book BCV at 11 months with the 400 points if you wanted to spend the rest of your vacation at BCV - in other words, spend a few days at VB and then the rest of the time at BCV/WDW).

You could also bank and borrow your VB points so that every third year you had up to 300 points that you could use at 11 months for VB.
