Booking AP rates and then dropping night?

I have a question. I've got a ressie on hold right now.

It's for ASMu for 4 nights, 6/17-6/21, because the system wouldn't let me reserve for less than 4 nights.

Is it possible to call in and drop the last 2 nights and still get the AP rate? I think I've read somewhere that you can do that.

I want to move to a mod or deluxe for the last 2 nights, but I didn't want to spend the extra $$ for a 4 night stay in a deluxe, and there aren't any mods open for the 4 nights.

Is this possible?

I would just call. I just off the phone with a very helpful castmember, helped me find a good room at a mod at the AAA rate. There was no wait when I called just a minute ago.

Bumping.

I've been working doubles this whole week and haven't had time to call. I'd really like to know if anyone has had a good experience dropping a night or two.

I think I've done what you're saying. I reserved more nights than needed (I think I did 10) then ended up needing only 7. I just called back as soon as I knew and they took off the extra nights no problem. In fact, I think I've done it twice now. It was a room only reservation with an AP discount. I ended up adding dining, too.
