Hi, I tried to do a quick search over the crazy amount of info on these boards, but I lost my patience. I apologize if this has been answered before( I am sure it's been asked hundreds of times), but I am overwhelmed with the sheer volume of information and threads. So here goes.
I just took advantage of the SW $79 each way deal to take my family down to WDW this December for my 6 year old daughters birthday. We typically make it down every year and this is the first time I've seriously have given thought to purchasing an AP. I am an avid podcast listener to all things Disney and understand you can book a resort stay with an AP discount if there is one available. I will be utilizing this when booking, as we decide to wait til discounts are announced before choosing our resort(s). I've heard that you can book with the AP discount without having an active AP, but it needs to be activated at check in. I will only have a voucher when we arrive DME and we won't get to check in until the late evening.
Can I activate/turn my voucher to an active AP at the resort? Do I have to go to a park to activate it? If I activate it after check in, will I then get the discount over our length of stay? Thank you in advance for your help. If I am in the wrong section for this question I apologize, I wasn't sure where to post. Thanks.
