Booking Airtran thru Kayak

Has anyone done this lately? I just tried to book our flights and select our seats but, it added the seat price onto the bookinig. I guess they have caught on??? Or did I miss something?

I think that glitch was closed a month or so ago.

Boy, you are right. I just did a dummy ressie, and it charged me $6.00 for the seat assignment. But the flight cost was still very reasonable....

They closed it a couple of weeks ago.

You could not pay for your seats right now and hope they release a coupon that you could then apply to your seats

A few weeks ago I booked our flight through Kayak and was able to pick the seats for free. Now when I check my reservation it shows my chosen seats and gives a fee, I think it is $15. Will they charge me that when I check in or are they still free to me since I did this weeks ago when it was still possible? My total on the bottom of my reservation still shows the amount of the tickets only and shows it paid via cc. Thanks!

As long as it shows that your seats are assigned - you should be fine!

I just checked my seats and they still show as assigned. If you have your original confirmation that shows that you had the seats assigned - I would call Airtran and let them know.

Gulp!! I am afraid to look at mine. I booked on 1/30/10 which was about a week before the Kayak seat assignment loop hole disappeared...

Is it possible that they changed your flight number? If you selected seats and "paid" for them through Kayak, you should be able to select them again for free since they are already paid for.

Yes, they did change the plane to a larger one and I tried to select seats again but, it tried to charge me. Then I called and they wouldn't assign seats because they didn't see where I paid for them. Oh well....
