so i plan on going aug 21st to the 29th 2015 just going with wife and kid this time so only need a studio. we are thinking about doing a 3 night then a 5 night split stay. our goal is 3 nights at baylake then 5 nights at board walk. right now the availability tool has all nights open at both places. so on the 21st should i book the 3 nights at baylake then wait 3 days later took book the boardwalk or should i book the 3 nights then book a week the next day then cancel the 2 nights i dont need. i dont think i will have an issue the last 2 weeks of august seem to be pretty wide open all across the board.

If you have the points to play with, I would book the whole stay at one resort once your window opens up, then book the last two days at the other resort when that window opens, then call MS to cancel the last two nights on the original reservation. It will guarantee you have a room in case something happens and the other resort is gone when you go to book.

if you don't have the extra points, you can do the same thing by calling MS when the second window opens.
