Booking a Trip

Getting ready to book a 2017 trip on the Disney website. My parents will be traveling with us also for a portion of the trip, and I want to book a separate reservation for them. However, they are old (and quite computer incompetent ), so I'd like to control the Fastpass+ for them, etc.

Would you recommend creating an entirely separate account for them and doing the reservation that way? Or under my own account, just as a separate, second reservation. Not sure what is easiest, so I'm open to suggestions.

I'd keep it all under your account since you'll be handling everything. We did a two room stay on our last trip with two reservation numbers and didn't have any problem. Was able to book everyone's FP together, etc. Ended up with connecting rooms even though it wasn't necessary.

You could allow them to have their own and then add them to your friends and control their adr and fastpasses. They can call to make their financial issues. And then have their magic bands linked to their own payment method. Just did this last visit with my in laws and it worked nicely.

I would create a second account for them. In a similar situation, I found it complicated to make reservations on my account for dinner or rooms when I wasn't in the party, especially when we were doing different things at similar times. I have planned several trips with extended family and found it easier to maintain two separate accounts (one for each family unit), then link them as Friends and Family. I can see and control everything either way, but this has worked better for us.
