When you book a split stay on the My disney experience site, can you book the two hotels under one reservation? How do you do this? What is the best way to manage memory maker, dining plan, tickets, etc?

WDW does not recognize split stays. To them it's 2 separate reservations so that's how it has to be booked.
Do you know how this would work?

If I book two resorts for split stay (2 reservations), if I purchase an 8 day park ticket with the first reservation, what happens if I purchase a memory maker? Would that go along with the 8 day ticket? Or would there be an issue since it's a split stay and only one resort would the memory maker be listed under? hope I am making sense

The Memory Maker would be good for 8 days.

What about the dining plan? If I wanted that, do I just have to book a dining plan for both reservations? Therefore I can even change the plan for ex one stay with a regular dining plan and one stay with a deluxe dining plan? And do I get two sets of magic bands>

Yes.

You can if you want. Or you can decline the 2nd set. Your choice. If you get 2 sets, you can use both for the entire trip. If you decline the 2nd set the one set you get will work for the entire trip.

Just remember that to buy the dining plan it has be part of a package, so you have to purchase tickets. It wouldn't work to buy an 8 day ticket on one reservation and no tickets on the next and have the ddp for both your stays.

Actually you can. It's called a ticketless package, room + dining, and has to be booked via phone, but it can be done.

Oh, then nevermind. I didn't realize you could do that - Disney's website doesn't make that clear at all.

Not exactly.
You can book 2 reservations or as many as you want, under 1 MDE account. But you can't book more than 1 room under 1 reservation. Each room has to have it's own reservation.
I don't book dining plan so can't answer that.
Memory maker should be good for 30-days from the date the first picture is taken. That's why people can do shares.
Right. This is why Memory maker is something you just buy and use when you want to use it. Only becomes an issue if your trip is longer than 30 days. So it has nothing to do with a package, tickets or even a resort stay.

Ticketless packages aren't advertised online (not that I know of, anyway).
Unless you have an AP, then they show up and can be booked right online
