Hiya

I am considering booking a room either at a disney hotel or at universal, just for a night or two, as a treat for me and chris,

which would you suggest?

i am an annual pass holder at both disney and universal

thanx anna

I would choose Universal simply for the fact that you can receive Front-of-the-Line access for the duration of your stay (a.k.a no queueing). I also think that the Universal Resorts provide better value-for-money. They are all within walking distance of the two parks and have boat/bus transportation as well. CityWalk is a great way to spend an evening too - the shops and restaurants are great - and it is wonderful to be able to take a short, scenic water taxi back to the hotel. The resort is compact yet feels very spacious. I've never stayed at The Royal Pacific, but out of the Portofino and Hard Rock I would recommend the Hard Rock Hotel. You can't get any closer to Universal Studios - and the pool comlex is incredible.

I would say Universal too Anna, if only because you have stayed at WDW resorts before and it would be nice to try there too. Also the FOTL benefit is second to none :thumbsup2

Hi Anna

We stayed at RPR last year for a night and are doing it again this year. You can check in really early (we arrived about 9:30am) and get FOTL access from then until midnight on the night of your deaprture. It is worth every single penny :thumbsup2 . Plus the Universal City walk has some great places to eat. We loved Margaritaville.

I totally agree and can't add much, except to say that I have stayed at RPR and, IMHO, it's as good as the other two. The walkway brings you out alongside Margaritaville! What more could you want? ;)

Everything at USF is within walking distance of everything else. If I had to choose between onsite at Universal, or onsite at WDW, then USF would win every time. But then that's easy for me to say because I've done both.
