Booking a resort

I am planning to stay the last week of January. We want to stay at the Polynesian and wanted to know if we book it and they don't offer a discount what is the penalty to change resorts or if I can't get time off until the following week can I use my $200 deposit toward another resort or week? Thanks for any help.

There wouldn't be any penalty as far as I know. My sister switched from POFQ to CSR to take advantage of free dining and they allowed her to do so without any issue. On a different note, Poly is awesome! Our favorite resort so far.

You might get a price change for moving your week from one week to the next. We changed our week this year and there was a price difference from moving our week back one week. Hopefully that won't happen to you as well if you change weeks.

If you have a package booked (room and tickets and/or dining), you can make any changes without penalty (and subject to availability) prior to your final balance becoming due which is now 30 days prior to check-in. Changes made within 30 days may incur a $50 penalty, but they typically waive it if the change costs the same or more than your original package or room.

If you book a room-only, you can change at any time prior to check-in without penalty. If you outright cancel within 30 days of a package or 5 days of a room-only, you lose your deposit, so it's always better to simply change dates than cancel outright if you are within penalty dates.

As the PP mentioned, changing dates may change the overall cost of your resort room-only or package.

Yes, your deposit will be credited if you make a change. The only time you would lose your deposit is if you outright cancel within a package or room-only penalty period (30 days for packages, 5 days for room-only).

DID you get the deposit credit to your other week

Yes we did. We did not have to pay another deposit. We just had to pay the price diff for that week vs. the week we had previously chosen. The price diff was added to our previous balance.
