Booking A Disney Hotel Thru a Non Disney Site??

Question and maybe this is the right place to ask this because it is about a budget but if not please point me in the right direction.

How does booking a Disney hotel thru say Priceline or Expedia, etc work? We will want to get tickets and a dining plan could I still add a dining plan? I'm just considering this as a back up option in case Disney doesn't have a sale for when we want to go and I could maybe at least get some rewards back thru ebates or something similar.

No dining plan when booking through those website. You can purchase tickets separately, with or without a hotel reservation, on Expedia. I don't know if it can be done with Priceline, but there are plenty of ticket resellers with great deals, so you can buy your tickets elsewhere.

Thank you! That's pretty much sealed it in my mind I would only do that if it was an amazing sale to offset the cost of paying out of pocket since we want to do several character meals. Thanks I was very confused as to how it worked.
