hoping someone can clarify for me....
i'm wanting to modify our Nov. reservations and wanting to make sure i'll be able to apply the AP discount to all reservations if/when they come out. i currently have 2 rms. booked for 1 week at the Poly (myself, dh, and our kids (passholders) in 1 rm. and my mil and fil in the other room). i want to change the reservation so that my mil and fil stay for the first 3 nts. at CSR, and then the remainder of the stay at the Poly.
when i called today and tried to do this, the CM (who didn't seem super informed about stuff) told me that i would have to get a different reservation for the CSR room, and we wouldn't be able to use the AP rate (if it comes out) for that reservation unless dh or i (the passholders) were on the reservation.
so here are my questions:
1. is it true that the passholder has to be on the reservation (we've booked/gotten AP rate for more than one room in the past, but we've always had a block of rooms reserved with one reservation number)?
2. if this is the case, we (the passholders) could switch to the CSR for the first 3 nights also and we'd then have 2 rms. on 2 different reservations and there'd be no problem, right?
and
3. what would happen if we then cancelled our (the passholders) CSR reservation, but the second rm. was kept----would we still be able to use the AP discount -if available- for them? (we the passholders would then have NO reservation at any WDW resort for the first 3 nights because there is a chance we might stay with friends off property for that timeframe).
4. is there a fee for changing the names of the adults in the room ? I'm thinking we could put dh and mil on 1 ressie and myself and fil on the other as dh and i are both passholders, then we could switch names around when we get down there if there is no fee....i know we HAD to do it this way last year with the best rate program, but can't remember if there is usually a penalty for that.
obviously, our plans are still a bit up in the air. i'm just trying to figure out all of our options before i call....
