Booking 11 months out 8:00 EST

New owner here. I haven't booked a trip on my own yet besides my welcome home visit that was booked by member services. Should I expect a surprise at the 11mo mark booking a Standard Poly Studio? Or are the amount of rooms available on my side? Didn't anticipate a struggle on the 11mo. opening date. :/

Congratulations, Welcome Home! As PPs stated, getting into the poly at 11 months should not be difficult. At the Poly, there are 288 standard studios and 72 Lakeview studios, so yes the amount of rooms are on your side🏝

Someone is interested in renting points from me mid Sept at BWV. Either 1 or 2 bed. Will it be an issue? I see you mentioned BWV SV as one of the difficult to book rooms.

I've booked 11 months out on a Feb vacation and didn't have issues, but it sounds like Sept is tough.

The SV 2 bedroom will go as fast as the SV studios since they are all lock offs. The views that cost more points will be a bit easier but will still disappear as people go with the studio view that's available. You'll need to try right at that 11 month window if you're trying for Sept. (assuming you're talking for next Sept.) because of F&W.

I think this info could be used in an ad for the companies who provide Fiber Optic internet service. OP is sitting at their computer, using broadband. Somebody else is sitting at their computer using Advertiser's fiber optic. Guess who gets the resie?

Ok, so I just found this thread… quickly got very involved, rooting for OP… when it suddenly hit me… we’re doing the same thing! Same room type, same dates, same reasoning (basically)…same everything!! …I clearly haven’t had any coffee yet

I was actually able to book a value studio a few weeks back (at the 11-mo, by using an atomic clock), but I *needed* a 2-bedroom, so I dropped it. I’ve got a friend that would love to stay at AKL, but only feels comfortable spending for a value- not a savanna view- so, I’m seeing if I can do it for her fam.

May amazing speed be with us both!! (I’m still rooting for you!! )

If you're going to try to do a friendly drop, so it when the start lines up for a random tuesday or wednesday six days out, so waitlist doesn't get it. Maybe this takes two drops (modification). I tried to do this with a holiday studio, and it flickered availability and then got taken by the system.

Also, maybe waitlist would work if you put it in for a random wednesday in a few days? You could try playing with the waitlist configurations and see if you can get 11 mo + 2 days or something. This might be why the 11 mo is always so hard. There might be walking waitlists behind the walkers.

I assume this is a popular time to go, right before school starts back up. Hopefully once this week passes, I will be able to try and reserve at 8:00 am again.
The interesting thing is that I have been able to follow behind and pick up the day before the current day, each day. The only "problem" with that is that you never know when someone will drop that day from their reservation, it's not always first thing in the morning. So I check about 5 times a day to see if it's there.

Just wondering why you've been picking up dates if you're wanting the last week of August/first week of Sept? Adding those earlier dates won't help get what you're wanting. Best of luck getting your dates though!

I have tried too many times to count. How does one get the current new day to book at 11 months out for difficult to get reservations at 8:00 am. I have it ready, I have my finger on my mouse.... one of two things happen when 8:00 rolls around.
1. It tells me that booking isn't open until 8:00 even though it just turned to 8:00... and refresh.... GONE
2. It is just gone instantly

Is my technique wrong, or is it my computer? Asking for my sanity.

Start trying at 7:57. Keep refreshing the screen and try again over and over. I Use this technique for concerts.

My DD & I are meeting up with family for a few days, before my DH & DS join us to go on the Wish! Figured there was no sense in a regular studio just for the 2 of us if I could score a value.

That's awesome. Well thank you for the drops. Sounds like you are going to have a great vacation. The value rooms I don't find are noticeably smaller than the regular studios.

We LOVE the 2bd value for the 4 of us, so I've seen the studio, but the 50th will be our first time staying in one. Believe it or not, I got that from a waitlist!

I love to stretch my points into as many trips as possible, hence why we try to stay in the value studios or the OKW studios. BUT, I've been toying around with the idea of less trips and using the value two bedroom instead. I for sure will, if we can't go on the three trips I have planned this year due to covid travel restrictions. I will have so many points to use up.
