Booking > 1 Week: How does it work?

What is the best way to book 2BR Standard View at Kidani during Christmas if we want to stay for more than 7 days? I think we plan to arrive somewhere around the 16th (or maybe later), and check out either the 26th or 27th.

I want to book the day the reservation becomes available (paranoid?) but it will only let me go 7 days out. Do I add on the additional days when they become available? Or do I chance it and wait til the whole thing can be done at once?

AKV is our home, so I can do this next week. Thanks for all the help -- we've never used our points before!

Book the 7 days online and then call MS each morning to book the additional day you need(for three days). They will add it to end of the original reservation. Otherwise, you will need to wait until 11 months from the 8th day to book the other three days(I hope that made sense).

Assuming you want 10 nights, you have the option to book the first 7 nights exactly 11 months out from date of arrival and then either (a) call the next day to add another night, and then the day after that to add a second, etc., or (b) just wait three days and call and call to add three more nights (you can't lose the extra nights during that time). Third option is just wait until your actual date of departure from WDW is eight days (seven nights) from the time you start to reserve anything and reserve everything at once. In making your choice be aware that AKV standard for that time of year in 2012 was still available even at the 7 month window.

As mentioned, several options. But, if you just want to be sure you get it, I'd probably book the 7 nights on line when I could, and then just call MS 3 days later to extend the trip.

Thanks, it's good to know I don't have to be as frantic and worried as I thought I'd have to be. I am surprised that a 2BR is available so readily at the 7-month mark during the holidays. Interesting!

Based on my tracking of the 7 month window, the AKV standard and savanna view rooms (studio, one, and two bedroom) are available at 7 months out all year long except potentially the first week of Dec, which is the highest DVC demand week of the year. On the other hand, AKV concierge is usually unavailable at 7 months out except for a night here and there, and AKV value is usually unavailable many weeks of the year.
