We booked a VGT on the Disney Fantasy for an upcoming cruise. When we booked it didn't seem like an issue as it will just be my wife and I and we weren't too worried about the location.
A couple days ago my wife had a doctors appointment because of some foot pain and fortunately it's nothing too bad, but she has to be careful how she walks and has to wear a boot for a couple weeks. They gave her a temporary handicap sign and all that.
So now we're more worried about our previous easy-going feeling about our room as we got assigned the furthest back of the ship.
Is there any point in calling DCL to see about a room change, even if by upgrade? We would change to a concierge I think at this point and pay the difference. If it may be possible to go up, would it be best to try and call now, or wait until we are at the port, or even on the ship?
She shouldn't need a wheelchair or anything to that effect so I don't think she needs one of the accessible rooms. But just trying to think of what will make it easier for her on the cruise.
Thanks!
