Booked my Dec 2010 trip!

YAY! I just booked my Dec 2010 trip. We're going 12/4 - 12/11 and got exactly what we wanted - a 2BR at AKV Kidani. It was my first experience booking through Member Services and I loved it. The person I worked with was very pleasant and helpful. I was a little concerned about getting the 2 BR during the beginning of December because I've heard that it's a very busy DVC time because of the low points. Because of that, I was on the phone at 9am at the exact 11 month mark. I was so happy we got what we wanted!!! Thanks for letting me share my excitement.

Congratulations and I love MS. I think they do a fantastic job!! The first part of December is extremely busy for DVC members but with you calling right away in your 11 month booking window, usually you will get a match.

Good for you! Did you get a lock off or dedicated 2 bedroom? We like to always get a dedicated because we like the 2 Queen beds in the second bedroom. That's what we're going to have in just 2 days, at BLT lake view!!! Just had to slip that little remark in...I really want to get out of this cold cold weather.

We got back from AKV Kidani Dec.23 and boy did we love it. Our home resort is BCV(6/12-6/20), but Kidani was great! Have a good time and try not to think about it too much. Ha Ha!

I was on the phone with you. We had our first trip to Kidani in Nov and going 12/1-12/10 this year. We got 2 studios with SV. See you there!!

Good for you! Did you get a lock off or dedicated 2 bedroom? We like to always get a dedicated because we like the 2 Queen beds in the second bedroom. That's what we're going to have in just 2 days, at BLT lake view!!! Just had to slip that little remark in...I really want to get out of this cold cold weather.

To tell you the truth, I told MS that it didn't matter about the dedicated or lock-off. This trip, MIL is coming with us and that will make only 4 of us. DD will probably sleep with us in the King bed since MIL snores pretty loudly. With the lock off, MIL would have her own space if she needs it. However, if we get the dedicated, that would be fine too. I guess I'll be surprised when we get the confirmation in the mail .

Actually, we have our first DVC trip coming up in 33 days. This next trip won't even be on my radar until it's time to make our ADRs and flight ressies. Although, going between Thanksgiving and Christmas will force me to get my Christmas shopping done early - so I'll have to consider that.

I called this morning too. I got right through to MS without any wait and was able to book a Dec 2010 stay in a 1-BR MK View at BLT.

Hey! We were both making nearly the exact same phone call yesterday! I got us our 2 bedroom AKV concierge room for the same dates!! We stayed concierge last month, and I was HOPING to be able to score the reservation for this year, since we'll be taking my parents! I actually added on an extra night this morning, so we'll be there 12/4 through 12/12! See ya there!!

I did not have such good luck trying both yesterday and today. 2BR Standard view BLT. Should have done the walk but now I'm doing the wait.

We're actually flexible so while I'm bummed it's more of a "I knew this would happen with the booking rule change!". This makes the second time I haven't gotten what I hoped for right at 11 months since that occurred. Last time the waitlist came thru and I figure I have a good chance this time as well.

I also booked our trip for Dec 4-11, 2010, but we will be in a 1BR Savannah view. I was very happy to get exactly what I wanted.

This is our "Christmas" trip, because we have never seen the Disney holiday decorations. I can't wait. After this December, I doubt we'll get there for Christmas for a while because my son will be in school and doubt that I will ever go during Christmas break. For this trip, I'll be pulling him out of kindergarten for the week.

We'll also be at Kidani in a 2BR Sav View from March 6-13. That'll help me get through the wait until December.

We're partially booked for our December trip. Got 2 nights booked at VWL (studio for DH and me on 12/3 and a 2 bdrm and 1 bdrm at VWL once the rest of the family shows up on 12/4). Tomorrow I try for the GV at the AKL for 4 nights. MS wouldn't let me book it with the other rooms because of the different room and resort changes. Gotta keep my fingers crossed. We stayed in a GV there in 2008 and absolutely loved it!

OP - I'll be at BLT starting 2/7/2010. See ya around the World!

When we took my mom to WDW we stayed in a 2BR lockoff. She really liked having the studio. She is a very early riser and would make her own pot of coffee in the studio kitchenette so that she wouldn't disturb us. She also liked having a sofa in her room when she watched TV early in the morning. It worked out great.

Got ours yesterday for 12/5 - 12/11 BWV, a 1 bdr Std. Also booked a studio Std for Daughter, her husband and our grand-daughter. They have never been to WDW during December so this should be special.

I almost didn't get the AKV GV we needed because..........I forgot to call this morning! Got busy with work and didn't remember until 12 noon. I must have had some stored up pixie dust because there was one more GV available and it was in Jambo House like we wanted.

I think next time I'll leave it to my DH to call. I don't want to be the one who blows the vacation!
