Booked August flights.

oh well done Wayne! im still holding out, i think im mad!
we are looking at 20/8 till 3/9 from man with a 7 seater car/ minivan! saw flights for 670 the other day but we are a family of 6 so im hoping for slightly cheaper indirects to come along! pixiedust:pixiedust:

Decided to book our flights tonight. Maybe paid a little OTT but they are perfect timings plus we get immigration done in Dublin (I hate MCO immigration)

Aer Lingus Manchester to Orlando (Via Dublin) 1st August
Aer Lingus Boston to Manchester (Via Shannon) 25th August.

Averaged out at £620pp (less 2.5% Quidco)

Tomorrow will book internal flight from Orlando to Boston at £59pp with Jet Blue.

Total £680pp, a little more than I expected but its done now.

First time I have booked with Aer Lingus, not impressed with their site, took about 5 attempts in all, really frustrating site. Wouldn't let me prebook transatlantic seats free without paying £5pp (each way) for the Man to Ireland (and return) leg, it was pre-book all or none (unless I got it wrong).
Prebooked all legs then confirmation came thru to say some were not accepted, won't let me change online so will have to ring tomorrow.

Like you Wayne it was our first time booking with Aer Lingus and we had the same problems, we also got timed out a few times as we read all the T&C's, it also tried to charge us the fee for the flight to Dublin and return so we decided to skip pre-booking our seats as we read we could do it later.

Well, we tried a few times by going to 'Manage Your Booking' and then 'Select your seat' but it wouldn't allow us and we received a message to call and that would be on 871 718 2020.

Anyway Wayne, we contacted them by SKYPE and called this number in the States 1-(800)-585-0672 and pre-booked our seats, they should be open Sunday so give it a try and better still it's a free call instead of 10p a minute tomorrow. Also tell them you didn't want to pre-book your seats on the flight to Dublin as you don't care where you sit on that short flight and try and get them to refund the £5.00 per seat as that was not shown in the originally pricing, good luck.

Great to have your flights booked- no pressure for DS then hey ;)
We went to Boston to run the marathon and I really loved the feel of it. We didn't do much sightseeing (apart from during the run!) but I'd really like to go back for a few days. Hope you enjoy it!

Good to hear our boss is sorted. Be good to see boston. Would love go there for a short stay. I bets matts got withdrawal from the USA :). Hood luck to him. I would have lived an opportunity like he has.

I rang this morning and sorted seats I wanted, online I was already charged £15 outbound from Man to Dub but the return leg from Shannon to Man I said I would take my chance with airport availabilty. Wasn't too bothered as it was still cheaper than any other agent, I couldn't find anywhere cheper than direct with Aer Lingus, Expedia were over £100pp more.:confused3

No pressure he just has no return flight, he can swim well.:rotfl2:
Worse case we have to buy another one way flight.

Have you made any decisions about accommodation yet?

Still to book hotel for our last 9 nights at Easter yet. Not thought about August.
Easter might be the Fairfield Inn (Marriott Village) again but its £45+/nt, never paid so much before:rotfl:
I can get this at £29/nt http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel_...ion_Center_Westwood_Blvd-Orlando_Florida.html
Or BW Lakeside at about £20/nt but Karen wants to stay around LBV.
2-3 of the DTD hotels are similar price to Fairfield but then possibly resort fees, parking, internet, breakfast all ontop.
I still have 4 weeks to decide:rotfl2:

:rotfl2: I might be laughing but I've just changed my hotel arrangements round for April too (only non-Florida bits).

That Extended Stay looks good; isn't there one on Palm Parkway/Turkey Lake too? I'm sure I've had a brief stay there when it was called something else. You know I'm with Karen on this - LBV would win for me every time.

I've got some (elderly) friends staying at the Courtyard on Palm Parkway right now. I always manage to get them quite a good deal (thanks to you, this time booked with Monarch) but they would choose to stay there even if it wasn't.

I'll watch with interest ;)

Yes, we had a look around it last Nov knowing they were offering good rates for his year, I could have booked it at £33/nt a few week ago but its more expensive than the Fairfield just now.
Downside was its a grab and go breakfast with no seating unless you sit out by the pool, not that we are too bothered about breakfast but it wasn't as welcoming as the Fairfield.

Who is that with? I may have to deal with layovers in future given that is half of what I have paid for August....

can i ask where you found this Wayne? ive got daily updates with kayak :)
On Kayak, up slightly at £566 this morning.
You have to search multiple times daily when looking for flights, I search at least 6 times a day. Their daily update is not good.
