We are taking a chance in last part of Nov. and beginning of Dec. on getting TS for lunch.
I just wanted SOME spontaneity on our trip. But now I'm wondering as we get closer to vacation that Ive made a mistake. What do all of you think?

Hi Poppinsme - we're from the New Orleans area too (we live in Bush, right outside of Covington on the Northshore)!!!!

We'll be in Disney Nov 15 -21, and I made one ADR for each day. Our other meals will be either table service if available, or counter service. We don't usually eat two big meals a day anyway. We'll be there the week of Thanksgiving, so I didn't want to take any chances!!!

As long as you're flexible with your dining times, you may be alright (some of the more popular restaurants may be booked - LeCellier, Chef Mickeys, etc). If there are any restaurants you really wanted to try, you may to call just to see if its available. Within the last week or so, I was able to get an ADR at Narcooses for one night with no problem.

Have a great trip!!!!!

GO SAINTS GO!!!!!!!! Hoping for a win on Sunday!

Should you book most of your lunch and dinners before you go if your on the dining plan.

We never do TS for lunch, there are too many great CS places. But I would never turn down a Le Cellier lunch!

Thanks for the feed back.:)
We are not big lunch people and usually have a large meal at dinner. So I think we shall wing it and do CS and if a TS is available go for it. Would love to try Kona since we are staying at the Poly.
Hello Magic2000:goodvibes and I certainly know where Bush is.:) Hope the Saints win!

We did counter service pretty much every day for lunch and that worked for us.

We did have one TS lunch, and that Friday when we realized we had an extra TS credit we needed to use. We didn't have an ADR but we managed to get into the 50's Prime Time Cafe for an early lunch (it was very good :goodvibes )

ABSOLUTELY! Please do book your table service meals before your trip -- the dining plan is no guarantee, and if you end up unable to use your credits (because you can't get into restaurants) you are out of luck!!!

Personally, if we want to eat at a TS, we book the ADR. I cannot tell you how many times, at lunch and dinner, we have heard the CMs tell walk-ins that there was NOTHING available at any time -- that the entire time for lunch or dinner was booked. There IS more flexibility at the resort TS places (such as Kona), but again, personally, we don't leave this to chance. Better to have an ADR and cancel than to be stuck trying to scrounge a meal or use up credits.
