booked 9/22//20 with 2018 use year points can't buy park tickets

Yikes! I did not know this. My daughter is bringing a friend for F&W, staying in BWV on my points. She has a ticket I purchased for her last year, but friend doesn't. This may be problematic.
Not sure if yours does... but my Publix still has Disney tickets on the gift card aisle for sale..... maybe check yours if you have one nearby? It looks just like a gift card but it’s a 3 day park ticket...

Depending on how many days you are going to go to the park it might be easier to buy Gold Annual Pass which you can still buy even though they are not selling tickts. They are around $700. Plus if you do not have a Disney visa I just saw this morning when doing online check in that the cash back offer for opening a card is $250 once you spend $500 in a 3 month period. If you purchase the AP using the card you will be eligible for the $250 credit.

Are 3rd party sellers not selling tickets? Yesterday I was looking at UT and while I didn't actually get to the point of actually buying tickets it sure seemed like I could have.

ETA: I just double checked and answered my own question. Definitely appears you can't buy them now.
UCT sold out earlier last week.

OK. Let me be a little clearer. Apparently I need to be. If you have an onsite reservation and are staying in a resort, you will be able to get into a park and you will be able to purchase a ticket for that park. I'd bet a stupid amount of money on it. We'll see who ends up being right, I guess. Agree to disagree. :)

Let me reiterate. There is no way anyone staying in a Disney resort is going to be denied entrance to a park for a trip. Ain't gonna happen. Talk about business suicide. I don't care what they could claim about knowing the rules going in. It simply isn't going to happen, and they have absolutely no intention of enforcing it that way.
But the kicker is you have to have a reservation to get into the park. In order to get the reservation you first must have a ticket.

Exactly,,,and, if Disney was confident it would not happen, they would not have put that out on their website to warn people.

Plus, all tickets purchased by June 6th, are being extended to 9/26/21. That a pretty big move for a system that went date based Not that long ago.

If I'm going in the near future and I buy airfare and make resort reservations in the hopes I can get reservations and tickets to the parks at some point, I need to ask myself one question... how lucky do I feel? As I'm not usually very lucky, I don't think I would chance it. Fortunately I have tickets and resort reservations so I just need to to get the park reservations. Those odds I can deal with!

ok, in CA, we can buy DLR tickets at grocery stores. They sell the So Cal ones when they have the promotion but typically 3 day tickets (one park per day or park hopper).

are there any grocery stores in FL that do the same?

Moderators, if this type of post is not allowed, please remove it. Note: I am not offering to sell tickets.

Since unused tickets can be reassigned to another person, I wonder if a market will develop where people with unused tickets will offer to reassign those tickets for a fee.

Not sure how that would be administered, and there would need to be a lot of trust, since if the buyer paid first there is no guarantee the seller would actually reassign the tickets, and if the seller reassigned ticket first, and the buyer did not pay, the seller would not control reassigning that ticket back to the seller, the buyer would have that control.

Ive sold tickets using eBay before without any issues, and it might be the way we go with our current tickets depending on how everything shakes out.

Through it, I’m paid before I transfer but there is still an element of risk should the buyer complain.

I feel like Disney is the fraud. I book my 2018 points that they wouldn't extend so I booked at the end of my use year as not to loose the points.
Ok when I rebooked they did not tell me that I could't not buy additional park tickets for my guests.
So we all booked airfare, which is non refundable. So again I feel like we are being frauded. Just a little info from DVC before we booked would have been very helpful so if we can't get into the parks we would cancel but will lose big $$
So I will lose all.around, points and airfare $$$ Nice Disney

How do you reassign to another person? I did not know that.

Ticket sales will resume at some point. I know it’s frustrating but DVC has nothing to do with that and wouldn’t necessarily be told prior what Disney was planning to do, especially the frontline CMs who answer the phones

I am just going to say to be very careful in buying tickets from someone who can’t provide you with a confirmation or code vs, just willing to reassign,

I canceled a ticket I bought from UT, and I could still assign to someone else as its in my MDE. . If anyone tried to use it, it would be invalid,

I have heard there are scams out there right now!
