I have a completely free weekend, so I would like to read a good book that I can complete before the weekend it out. What would you suggest?

What kinds of books do you like?
Any subject would be fine. I want to branch out.
A great short novel I'm reading right now is The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, about the German occupation of the Isle of Guernsey during WWII.
For a longer read, Water for Elephants, The 13th Tale, The Secret Life of Bees, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nightime, or Snow Flower and the Secret Fan were my favorites from the past few years.
Also, add The Art of Racing in the Rain. Great book!A good friend just recommended the Guernsey book. The rest of your list is what I would suggest, except for the couple I haven't read. Since our tastes look so similar, I'm going to go to Amazon. Also, add The Art of Racing in the Rain. Great book!
