Does it matter whether I book a room only ressie through AAA or should I go through Disney? It's only for three nights and I won't be upgrading to a package since I have left over hoppers from this year.

When I make a room only reservation requesting a AAA rate for my stay, I call Disney directly. I have always gotten a AAA discount - but, I always call as soon as the discounts are announce. There are a limited number of rooms with the AAA rate at each resort throughout the year. Therefore, call as soon as you have settled on your resort request and dates.

Are AAA rate available for January?

They should be available, but they may be sold out if your looking for Jan 2008. There are only a certain number of AAA rooms available at any time. You can check AAA's website to see if they have any AAA rooms available for your travel dates even if you are not a member. ;)

I always check the AAA website to see what's available & what the rate is & then call the Disney toll free ressie number & use my AAA discount. It's nice & easy that way. I live too close to want packages, so I enjoy booking it myself.

I just booked a aaa room at PC for next april by calling disney. When I had originally started looking a few weeks ago, the AAA website had the same price of 84/night, but friday they only had 99$/night, but we got the AAA rate by calling Disney. If you can get the same rate either way, i don't think it matters. Have fun.

I have a possibly dumb question about the AAA site. We are members, and whenever I go to the site to look for a Disney Resort I always have to fill out a form and someone will get back to me, how do you just see the rates for the resorts w/o doing all that?

I'm in Florida, so I always go to www.AAAsouth.com & search for hotels only (I usually type in Disney World Hotels) and then it will come back one more time asking which hotels. I put in the dates that I want & it'll search and come back with whatever Disney hotels are available for that time frame and the amount. I've always done that for any hotel in the US that I need to stay at.

Hope this helps!

I booked a AAA rate for the All-Star Movies ($79), but now we are thinking about the All-Star Music Suites. We called and they said those rooms are available, but only at rack rate (no AAA rate available). Does anyone know if it's possible that more rooms will become available at the AAA rate or is it a "once it's gone, it's gone" type of thing? We would pay the extra $600 we thought it would cost, but just can't justify an extra $1000.

It is always possible. People cancel or change ressies all the time. so you might get lucky. Just keep trying.

I was just on the website but did not see where you can see what is available and what the rate is. How do I find this?

When I log into www.aaasouth.com using my account (you have to be a member) and put in Walt Disney World as the destination it will come back & ask me if I want Disney World hotels or surrounding area. I always pick WDW Hotels - give it the dates I'm looking for & it usually gives me everything from the values to the Deluxes if they're available for that date. Then you click on the box next to the hotel you want, it will usually come back & tell you standard or preferred & you click on the quotes & it gives the rates. At least that's how it's always worked for me.:confused3 Good luck!!

try googling "aaa southern new england" click on the top search result, it's the website that I use and I don't have to put in my aaa number to do a search. ;)

That depends on whether they put cancelled reservations back into the sytem as discounted rates. Sometimes the reservation just goes back into the pool of rooms available - I'm not sure what Disney does.

I tried this and it didn't ask me for a destination -- only asked if I wanted to "tour disney world." I'll keep trying.

Tried this too, but for some reason it automatically went to AAAOhio. Oh well. Maybe I'll just call AAA. Thanks for trying to help me.

A couple weeks ago we started planning for our trip and decided we wanted to stay at CSR. We called our AAA agent, and was told that there weren't any rooms available for our dates. So we ended up booking a ressie at CSR at rack rate.:sad1:

About a week later, I was surfing the disboards and read something that inspired me to check the AAAmich.com website for rooms. I did, and found that there were now some rooms available at CSR for our dates! We quickly called our AAA agent again, had her cancel the rack rate ressie, and then booked the AAA rate ressie at CSR!

The moral of the story is, you just need to keep checking, since people do cancel and those rooms go back into the AAA rate pool. I hope this helps!

I wasn't sure if it would work. I'm not terribly computer literate so I don't know how AAA knows to default to the AAA for your area. If you wanted I could search my AAA website to see if I can find availibilty for your dates. ;)
