This is a challenge My husband gave me 2 months ago.
We have been to disney world twice, 2001 and 2004.
My daughter was born in 2006 and is Mickey mouse crazy!!
After much pleading to take her( I really wont to go again too) he agreed that the 3 older kids 18.15 and 12 would have to stay home, which they are happy about, all planned thinngs to do themselves. We, myself and him and our daugthter could go if I could keep it to the £2000.00 he had saved and if we could go the the everglades and the Keys too.
I rose to the challenge,
Managed to get the flights, flying into Miami and returning from Orlando for
£860.00
Seaworld tickets for £88.00.(this are an extra for my birthday and not included in the £2000.)
2 xDisney 7day premium for £404.00, only doing disney this time.
Three nights in Fort Lauderdale in a lovely hotel including breakfast for £85.00.

So I am on target.

So now I have to get a car organised and a hotel in Kissimmee with about £650.00 left.
Any helpor advice would be great.
Do I leave hotel and car booking until later to get a better deal? or book now.?
We fly out from Heathrow October 22nd so will be in Disney for Halloween, Cant wait, may be 40 but am still a big kid when it comes to anything Disney.

hi there,
firstly well done on all your bargain hunting and getting the flights at such a great price:goodvibes car wise I think you are probably ok to book now as those prices dont fluctuate very much. just did a quote for you with http://www.uscarhire.com and for your dates it came in at £257 for a 4 door economy. have a look as they use all the major rental companies. Hotels could well drop in price nearer the time but no good advice where to look. i implore you not to use expedia as i had a serious problem with them and i know others have too.

but good luck with it and well done on sticking with the budget:hug:

Well done on getting everything so far! :thumbsup2

We usually book our Orlando hotels through a website called greatlatedeals.co.uk which I believe are part of Travel Republic. I havent seen any prices for this year though as we have booked a Villa privately but in the past we have always used these or hotels.com and cant usually get cheaper......may be worth a shot! :confused3

What dates are you wanting the hotel for? Any reason Kissimmee? places around Maingate (192 west) and LBV are closer to Disney, are they not an option?

We stayed in Kissimmee the previous 2 visits, we liked the area, I like Old town.
Hotel is needed from the 28/10 until 6/11.
Am willing to look at other options and areas.

Thanks for the heads up on Expedia, Claire and Car hire info.
Thanks to you too Lisa with the Search engine for hotels.

Where you stayed before, hotels vary a lot in price and standard. Just did a quick search for your dates anything from £133(Howard Johnson, near Old Town) http://www.hojomge.com/
Cypress Pointe Grandevillas LBV gets good reviews 1 bed apt £305 http://www.cypress-pointe.com/
We are staying at Regal Sun opposite DTD for 2 nights end of August for your 9 nights £306 http://www.regalsunresort.com/

Loads of choice for hotels.
If there is a certain hotel you like tell me which and I will find best price available.

For car rental check out all these companies, any could be the best for your dates.

www.alpharooms.com is a good site for accomodation!! If you're renting a car during your stay you could stay on International Drive which is not far from Disney (around 15min drive) and near to Seaworld. We're staying in the Quality Inn International which is very well priced.

Thank you all for your help, Disney on a budget can be done, And I will prove this to my Hubby...lol

What are your recomendations for 192 west? I've always thought about booking this area, but then end up back on site. I find US192 west great for restaurants, and easy access to Disney via Sherbeth road.

Depends on budget or class of accomodation you are looking for, if its a good budget resort then here http://www.bestwesternlakeside.com/ stayed there 4 times under different owners. you won't get much better reviews than this for a £25-30/night resort http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Re...-Best_Western_Lakeside-Kissimmee_Florida.html

We now much prefer LBV but BW lakeside is our 2nd fave area to stay at, very easy to Disney with Sherbeth rd.
If you are wanting something higher class sorry can't think of much around here, they are all aimed at tourist rather than business market.

You have done well with your prices but don't rule out other hotel options:goodvibes You may be able to get a room at a hotel closer to the theme parks and you may also be able to get free shuttle buses to the parks which can save a lot of money when you think about car insurance as well as the hire price. We love LBV it's well suited to families many hotels have suites and family rooms if you browse about and some of them also do the kids eat free offers and many of them offer complimentary breakfasts too. I'm just thinking of ways to keep your costs down overall.
I know everyone has their favourite locations and that's okay. There are lots of restaurants to find near most localities if you use "mapquest" or something similar on some of the hotel sites you can usually find nearby facilities and shops.
If we go again after this upcoming trip we'll definitely think about the Comfort Inn again they had great rooms on a good location close to everything we needed and had a secure pool and kids play area in an enclosed are with an electronic gate entry system operated by your room key very safe. The free buses took us everywhere we needed to be and the attractions desk in the lobby took care of our Kennedy Space Centre trip too, they used Gator Tours who were great and we had our own tour guide (plus transport) all day.

Well I have managed to get a car for the 15 days, pick up at Miami drop off at orlando airport for £257.00, through Alamo. Well pleased as I got 10% off through the brits guide and that includes both of us to drive.
Around £400.00 left now to book 2 nights in the keys and 9 days in Kissimmee.
