Book before closing is final?

Can you book a stay within the 11 month window at a home resort before closing is final? I am looking to book the thur and fri before Easter at BLT and know that it will be tough so I figured the sooner I can try, the better.

no. If you don't own it, and you're not in DVC's system they won't even talk to you.

If you are purchasing thru DVC directly, you are able to make reservations as soon as you have paid your deposit with no need to wait until closing. Once you have made the committment you are in the DVC system. As noted, resale purchasers need to wait until they have been entered into the system - usually about a week after closing.

AND if you're buying resale you can't have the current owners make the reservation, as all outstanding reservations are canceled by DVC when the title changes hands. So you'd have to wait until you're in the system. If you bought direct you can call as early as soon as your deposit is received by DVC.

I'd guess since you're buying BLT you're buying direct. If so, some people have even gotten their guides to book the reservation at the time they purchased - and/or made it a condition of buying.
