BOO TO YOU, SANTA!! A November 2012 PTR!-Upd 10/24,pg.14-#205 Costumes and T-Shirts!

Man, I wish I had hit the 25% off sale. I always miss the good stuff!!! I got an eye out on the site though!!!!

;)

Great purchases from the Disney Store! I spend a bit too much time on their website these days :rotfl:...always something tempting me to buy it.

I know what you mean! With all the "sales" they put on its hard to resist...:lmao:

;)

I wouldn't worry too much about it. I think they do 3-4 sales like that a year. They will just need another reason to trick us in to spending money. The month of March alone gives us all the following days:

1 National Pig Day
1 Peanut Butter Lovers' Day
2 Employee Appreciation Day first Friday in March
2 National Salesperson Day - first Friday in the month
2 Old Stuff Day
3 I Want You to be Happy Day
3 If Pets Had Thumbs Day
3 National Anthem Day
3 Peach Blossom Day
4 Holy Experiment Day
4 Hug a GI Day
5 Multiple Personality Day
6 Dentist's Day
6 National Frozen Food Day
7 National Crown Roast of Pork Day
8 Be Nasty Day
8 International (Working) Women's Day
8 Popcorn Lover's Day second Thursday
9 Panic Day
10 Middle Name Pride Day
11 Johnny Appleseed Day
11 Worship of Tools Day - guys, you can relate
12 Girl Scouts Day
12 Plant a Flower Day
13 Ear Muff Day
13 Jewel Day
14 Learn about Butterflies Day
14 National Potato Chip Day
14 National Pi Day- Why today? Because today is 3.14, the value of Pi.
15 Everything You Think is Wrong Day
15 Ides of March
15 Incredible Kid Day
15 Dumbstruck Day
16 Everything You Do is Right Day
16 Freedom of Information Day
17 National Quilting Day - third Saturday of month

18 Supreme Sacrifice Day
19 Poultry Day
20 International Earth Day
20 Extraterrestrial Abductions Day
20 Proposal Day
21 Fragrance Day
22 National Goof Off Day
23 National Chip and Dip Day
23 Near Miss Day
24 National Chocolate Covered Raisin Day
25 Pecan Day
25 Waffle Day
26 Make Up Your Own Holiday Day
27 National "Joe" Day
28 Something on a Stick Day
29 National Mom and Pop Business Owners Day
29 Smoke and Mirrors Day
30 National Doctor's Day
30 I am in Control Day
30 Take a Walk in the Park Day
31 Bunsen Burner Day
31 National Clam on the Half Shell Day

I mean, what says Bunsen Burner Day better than a sale at the Disney Store?

Needless to say, I'm sure we are all obligated to give our wives a card and/or present and/or flowers on each of these holidays?

Thanks for joining in and :welcome:!! It's always nice to have a fellow Hoosier, but what's up with the Bearcat name? Why not MrsHoosier, MrsFightingIrish, MrsJaguar, or MrsBulldog:confused3 ;)

Well that would be because I am married to a Muncie Central Bearcat and believe me when I say once a bearcat always a bearcat. His life revolves around the high school basketball season, Colts football, and roller coasters but it sure does make life fun;)

It depends on what level of husband you want to be. Me, I'm comfortable being a solid 6, but if you are shooting for higher then I would suggest you not wait till the last minute to buy your wife "something on a stick.":mickeybar

Ok, that is totally acceptable. I was afraid it was in reference to the Cincinnati Bearcats, which might have been an issue. :thumbsup2

I’m a day late, but not a dollar short. Maybe fifty cents short, but definitely not a dollar! Well OMDD (That’s One More Disney Day for you losers that don’t know all the abbreviations) has come and gone and I must say the only impact on my life was adding one more day to wait for our trip. :sad2: It appears a free dining plan offer will be released in a few days (now for Disney Visa card holders) for 8/24-9/29, so I am hopeful that the pattern of the last couple years will repeat itself and the November dates will be released this summer.:goodvibes

As you may have noticed the PTR follower numbers have expanded to a Dirty Dozen and this freight train shows no signs of stopping!! :thumbsup2 (I would have a gone with the twelve apostles, but I’m not quite that full of myself. Not yet anyway…)

As is my custom, I would like to discuss a quick issue before I get into our MNSSHP priorities. I am putting out a call to action to find a new, more masculine term to replace Pixie Dust!:tinker:

For those who don’t know about Pixie Dust, it is a term that seems to cover anything good (magical:wizard:) that is Disney related, especially as it pertains to a Disney vacation. Now don’t get me wrong, I am very secure in my sexuality, and Terrance (the dude above) is as badass as they come, but I need a new term to use for when I am doing manly things with my manly friends.

braveheart-1995-02-g.jpg

For example, if me and the guys are out bow-hunting wild boars while looking at nudie magazines, swearing, and chewing tobacco, I can’t turn and say “So I got some pixie dust in the mail today when I got a discount code for our Disney trip.” If I am wrestling an alligator, bare knuckle boxing, or inventing the wheel, I certainly can’t say “This cast member at Disney World sprinkled some Pixie Dust on me when he gave me an anytime Fastpass.” :confused3 (Let’s forget the fact that they would have no idea what any part of that sentence means.)

So my challenge to all twelve of you is to come up with a new, super manly version of Pixie Dust by Monday morning!

Now, on to the party priorities!

I’m going to deviate a bit from the previous formats since there are really no low priority party activities. Instead I will rank them from most important to least for each party. Obviously the activities are very subject to change, but they seem to stay mostly the same from one year to the next. I will be interested to see how they utilize all the new space in the Fantasyland area.

Since it comes first in both the year and our hearts I will start with Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party!:scared1:

The following events are in the order that we ranked them:

Boo to You Parade: Any parade with grave diggers is tops in my book!

Disney’s Villains Mix & Mingle: Why does it feel so good to be so bad?:maleficen

Happy Hallowishes: Fire! Fire! Fire!

Special Character Meet & Greets: Some are high priority, some are not…
Dwarves.jpg
...
Duffy.jpg

Special Photo Ops: I always knew the past would come back to haunt me…:hmghost:

(Not my relative, so thanks for making a cameo in my PTR big guy!)

Character Dance Parties: If we can fit them in there is a 90% chance that Bullseye will get served!

Trick or Treating: We all love candy, but this will be just in passing…

So to sum up MNSSHP, the top three are all absolute musts and we are planning to get in line at 6 for the 7 Dwarves, but the other festivities and characters will be fit in as time allows. If all goes according to plan we may even sneak in a few rides at the end of the night.:woohoo:

So what do think? I think most of you are also hoping to attend, so what’s important to you? Are you more interested in the party exclusives or low ride waits, the characters or the shows? Any character(s) you would really love to meet? If you have been what did you accomplish? I will eagerly await your responses!

Up next…MVMCP!!

Chest hair? Machismo? Old Spice?

I'm not up on "manly" descriptors....

I give you an A for effort, but I'm not sure I would want someone sprinkling machismo or chest hair on me. :scared: Old spice is an alright idea, but maybe something loosly Disney related. Again, though, A for effort!

Wow. This is a tough challenge.

"Disney Dirt" might work as a replacement. As in, "I got a free room upgrade. I love getting a shovelful of Disney Dirt thrown on me!"

As far as MNSSHP goes, I would like to experience a little bit of everything. We normally avoid the parade and fireworks at MK due to crowds, but I am really looking forward to them at the party. We have done MVMCP and really enjoyed both the parade and fireworks. I've heard the MNSSHP versions are even better. I think the parties tend to have lower crowds, making them much more manageable.

I'm also looking forward to seeing some of the characters you don't normally see, like the characters from the Haunted Mansion who hang around out in front. They are supposed to be very entertaining.

Can't wait!

So my challenge to all twelve of you is to come up with a new, super manly version of Pixie Dust by Monday morning!

Challenge Accepted!

After pondering on this overnight, I submit my three suggestions:

1.) Plus-ing: term Walt often used when encouraging his animators to add to the gags in the cartoons

2.) Mickey Magic

3.) Special snowflake allotment: “My family is just full of special snowflakes and after screaming at the CM for ten minutes straight over my Mickey bar melting in the sun, he finally doled out my special snowflake allotment and gave us the ‘Grand Floridian Upgrade.” (Grand Floridian Upgrade taken from Josh over at easyWDW).

Unfortunately, none of them are overtly "manly" but might be an acceptable alternative to "pixie dust" when talking amongst your man-friends.

Sunshine

Pirates Booty or Gaston's Gun Powder. "I got a 35% off room only pin code for Oct./Nov. in the mail today, now that's some Disney Pirates Booty". "No way dude! You got blasted with Gaston's Gun Powder".

:rotfl2:

Not sure I want dirt dumped on me, but it is more manly.

Magic Mickey Beans?....Donald Feathers?

I'm kind of digging Donald Feathers. Magic Mickey Beans is good but maybe a word too long..

Pirates Booty or Gaston's Gun Powder. "I got a 35% off room only pin code for Oct./Nov. in the mail today, now that's some Disney Pirates Booty". "No way dude! You got blasted with Gaston's Gun Powder".

Pirate Booty could be misconstrued and Gaston's Gun Powder might be a bit long, but I like your thinking! Both manly options!

1) Seems like it might be hard to use in a sentace.

3) Snowflakes are only slighly more manly than pixie dust. (On a side note, I am a huge fan of easywdw. I think Josh is the funniest Disney blogger around!)

2) Mickey Magic....I think we have a WINNER!! :cheer2: (In keeping with the theme, that represents a sexy female cheerleader, not a sexually ambiguous male cheerleader.)

I like Mickey Magic! Masculine, but not uncomfortably so and simple enough that no explanation would be needed for a lay person!

Sorry for my neglect the last several days, but I should have our last priorities up tomorrow.

It’s seems like I have been running behind on everything lately and my PTR updates are no exception. Thanks for hanging in there and I will do my best to regain the consistency that once made this the 751,231st most popular PTR on the Disboards!:cool1:

consistencydemotivator.jpg

So it looks like today’s MK visitors got some Mickey Magic as part of the new Story Book Circus had a soft opening and I for one am stoked!

My excitement about this is rather ridiculous considering that everything that is now open (Dumbo, Great Goofini, Train Station) is really nothing more than re-themed/re-tooled attractions that were already there. I think the real excitement will come when the Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast Sections open, with a crescendo upon the completion of the Mine Cart ride. Here’s to hoping that all the October/November travelers here will get to enjoy all the new stuff (except the Mine Carts) on our upcoming trips!:jumping1:

Raise-your-glass.jpg

Without further ado I will move on to the last of our party priorities, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party!!:santa:

As with MNSSHP, I will just rank these from most important to least important as we would like to partake in all of the party activities.

Again, the following events are in the order that we ranked them:

Holiday Wishes Fireworks: You know what would make Christmas better? More Explosions!!

Magical Snow Fall on Main Street: Snow in Florida? What’s next 70+ degree weather in Indy in early March? That’s crazy talk!

Complimentary Cookies and Hot Cocoa: I guess my family just loves “free” stuff? (Side note: I gave this a 6/10 while the rest gave it a 10/10! Insanity!!)

Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade: It’s Santa!!!
Parade.jpg
Parade2.jpg

Celebrate the Season Show: Holidaaay….Celebraaate….It Would Be Sooo Nice…

A Totally Tomorrowland Christmas Show: Break it Down Stitch!!:dancer:
stitch1.jpg

The Magic, the Memories, and You! Holiday Edition: Now this looks cool!
Candy-Cane-Castle.jpg

Special Character Meet & Greets: We will make time for a few…

Character Dance Parties: You know what to do G, Bust a Move!

Contrary to the stated priorities, I would still say the Parade and Fireworks are the absolute must-do’s of the night. Assuming we get the Dwarves out of the way at MNSSHP we will probably like up early for the Princess/Prince meet and greets if they do those again this year. Hopefully the new Princess M&G area that is replacing Snow White’s Scary Adventure will be open by then.:goodvibes

So what do think? I know a few of you are planning to attend, what are your priorities? Will you wait in line for Santa? Any character(s) you would really love to meet? Are you as stoked for mediocre cookies and hot chocolate as my family? As always, I will eagerly await your responses!:hyper:

Up next, costumes and t-shirts!

I am ridiculously excited about the MVMCP. I LOVE Christmas time and my kids have NO idea we will be there for CHristmas stuff too! THey only know about the Halloween Party! I cannot wait to suprise them! It will however extend the "How many more days until Christmas" talk. LOL I am going to make us some Christmas themed shirts and try and find some Santa hats for the kids!!! Should be no issue since Christmas decor comes out in like August now a days!!!! I don't even care what we do other than the fireworks, castle show and the SNOW!! And seeing Mickey and Minnie in their Holiday wear!!!

:) I cannot WAIT!!!

Will you go to the first one that they have? I am also excited about it because I can't help but think that the first couple probably are not tooooo to busy? Right??

We love Christmas also! Last year we had 9 decorated trees throughout our house! We are planning to attend the first party. Hopefully it will be sometime between Tuesday 11/6 and Thursday 11/8. I prefer not to go on Friday 11/9 because I hear more locals go on the weekend, plus Jersey week will be in full swing. If that ends up being the first party we will grin and bear it though! :)

Those look like good priorities. Though I have to tell you, having done MVMCP before, the cookies and hot chocolate were overrated. I love paying $60 per person for Aldi's brand hot chocolate and sugar cookies as much as the next guy, but I really wouldn't go out of my way for them.

The parade and fireworks are both musts for the party (and we normally skip both at MK due to crowds), but I'm not sure it's worth the time staking out a spot on Main Street for the fake snow during the parade. I'm pretty sure that's the only place the snow falls.

Considering how much you want to do during the party, you may not want to devote the extra time to securing a prime spot on Main Street when you can easily get a great view of the parade (sans snow) with much less wait time back in Frontier Land or Liberty Square.

Just a thought...

I believe the snow fall goes on from seven to midnight so that shouldn't be as much of an issue. Thanks for tip on watching the parade in Frontier Land! I assume that would hold true for the MNSSHP parade also so we will plan accordingly.
